They're applauding the DJ. Not the music, not the musician, not the creator, but the medium. This is it. The birth of rave culture. The beatification of the beat. The dance age. This is the moment when even the white man starts dancing. Welcome to Manchester.
What happened to the USA?
IMHO the wheels really began to come off in the time period of the tune below. Distrust of the establishment was hardwired into the subconscious of many young people...including myself. Years later that distrust would surface into the conscious. For me personally, that surfacing took about twenty years. The seeds sown back then have borne a harvest of bitter, cynical fruit.
Although not seemingly connected...hearing of Andy's(hick) passing, combined with current events, has not helped my attitude at all. I'm back quiet.
Eat the Elephant...
Which in turn puts me in mind of my second favourite running track.
I fukin' love white music.

One night I woke up in the middle of the night listening to the song below.
Who Is that I thought? " Femme Fatale" , "I have to have more"! I spend the rest of the night searching for music by her. Elise kept me up all all night and not for the reason i would have preferred.

The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.
Since we are in the " Femme Fatale' subject. Well at least I am LOL
This is one from a Texan group whose music was influenced by Isaan Luk Thung
Kruangbin. (for those who might not know, it means Airplane in Thai)
John Weldon got a mention earlier and i hadn't thought about him in years...great bloke
He was that good Clapton played with and covered his songs.
Forgot how good he was. Sorry JJ.
Well, you make your own mind up if he was racist.
Here's a bit of monologue he gave at one of his UK (Birmingham) concerts in 1975.
“Do we have any foreigners in the audience tonight? If so, please put up your hands … So where are you? Well wherever you all are, I think you should all just leave. Not just leave the hall, leave our country … I don’t want you here, in the room or in my country. Listen to me, man! I think we should send them all back. Stop Britain from becoming a black colony. Get the foreigners out. Get the wogs out. Get the coons out. Keep Britain white … The black wogs and coons and Arabs and f*cking Jamaicans don’t belong here, we don’t want them here. This is England, this is a white country, we don’t want any black wogs and coons living here. We need to make clear to them they are not welcome. England is for white people, man … This is Great Britain, a white country, what is happening to us, for f*ck’s sake? … Throw the wogs out! Keep Britain white!”
