To actually sing in tune and run around on stage is impossible and Mick Jagger is a good example of this fact.

The likes of Spears, Madonna, Spice Girls etc and others are backroom media creations that fit a style and when the time is right.

Real talent is not even considered when looking at the promotional big picture but being able to give head sometimes does.

Marylin Monroe was a great example and with regard to acting as she couldn't but apparently gave great head!

I can think of two luktung singers who can do this pretty well, Mangpor Chonticha and Adjareeya Bussaba. This dance luktung style goes back to Pumpuang who deveopled this style, her concerts at the Dusit Thani can still be bought on Cd and her energy and ability to sing and dance are very impessive still. Magpors routines are well done with her own troupe. Most morlam singers dance and sing at the same time, although the dancing is much slower, except for lam cing. jintara poonlap is a Spears fan and has mimed to her songs on TV and copied an album cover pose of hers, as well as a Beyonce one.
I just listened to the Britney clip, well as much as I could, you certainly would not want her to 'do it again'. Most in studio recorded Thai performances are lip synced, I know cos I have been a few times to the recordings, can be boring as they often do the same song over and over to get it looking right. Live shows on TV are almost always just that.

Talentless bimbo never did anything for me, give me Christina Aguilera over Spears any time, and she has a hell of a set of pipes too. That Andrews Sisters tribute that Aguilera did is one of my my guilty pleasure songs.

Kind of agree but at least Madonna was somewhat original. I don't really like her or her music but she burst onto the scene with something kind of new and fresh, and I think she is sharp and skilled at marketing a product that she at least created herself.

Spears and the Spice Girls et al were straight off some sales and marketing production line, specific products for a specific market, zero skills or talent; their careers could have been had by any other candidate that the sales and marketing team chose to use.

Still I think that AO's link might be a fake; if Spears is going to lip sync then why bother turning her mike on during the singing bits, let alone record it? Just turn it on for the times she is babbling at the sycophantic idiots who paid to see her and then turn it off while she struts her stuff.

Yes slacker Christina has talent and is a far better singer than Spears but remember how the media machine built a rivalry between them much the same as that they created between Mariah Carey and Whitney Huston.

Madonna was absolutely horrible when she first started singing these terrible songs very nasally with that quirky voice (Holiday for example) and the hype machine (plus her own dirty promotional ideas) took her too the top.

Wouldn't hold a candle to the great Divas like Chaka Khan, Barbaras Steisand, Alanis Morrisette even my ex-wife who was a great vocalist.

While she does not know how to sing, though in all fairness, if this is a lipsync performance, performers, by design, do not actually belt out their lyrics - in fact, this is what most performers who lip sync sound like. The point is that you just want to move your lips along to your songs, but not actually belt out the song.

Nice vid, but not as sensational as most make it out to be - BUtterfly's Brit-Brit Honey is safe.
