Aren't you all missing the point, Chitty is a minkie.

Minkies missed the 60s, whilst Laaandan and the south were all kaleidoscopic, the norf was uniformly grey , the only difference from modern day norf is benefits allowing the fat feckless fukers ti gorge on takeaways. In the 60s norvern people couldnt heat their houses and afford wimpys and thus weren't fat, just uniformly grey.

Chitty, you cannot afford to heat your house, the kids are going to bed with ice on the inside of the windows wearing their wolley jumpers. Bath once a week in the kitchen in the tin bath by the coal fire.

The image you are trying to conjure is aound 260 miles SW as the crow flies in a flat in paddington

Those tables were a design called the pebble and they used to have nests of three of them, in reall wood. In the UK post Dutch Elm disease when there was a load of elm wood available Ercol produced them

    That was my early childhood

The kitchen, by far the warmest room in the house and the nicest smelling - no microwaves, air fryers or Deliveroo, just good old home cooking. Bath time watching the Lone Ranger
Couldn't have used the bathroom - there wasn't one and if I wanted a Jimmy Riddle during the night I would have had to traipse down to the bottom of the garden to the outhouse.

I literally want it to be like entering a time warp when you set foot in the room.

Money is not really an issue, more originally and taste.

Any ideas and pics or links would be appreciated.

I need to get my finger out and get this project rolling faster hence this thread.
Jesus. Google is your friend. Type in "classic 1960s living room" and you will get hundreds of images.

He did this with his car thread.

'money no object', but the vote was for an Audi and he couldn't afford it.

As you say, this stuff can be bought as a package these days.

A package from a production line.

German cars are notoriously unreliable and expensive to both maintain and repair, even at independent workshops. Used Audis and BMWs in his price range have mostly been thrashed by you know who around Bradford, Birmingham and Burnley

The Saab drop top exudes class and was a much better choice. He should keep it.

Be interesting to see the decor in Cyrilles gaff. Or maybe not.

    Well, mildly perhaps.

    If you like Hopper.

Got five kittens a month old now, so that's been fun.

Look out for forthcoming polls about what they should be named, or how can I deal with all these crazy antics threads.

Yeah I fucking hate it when people try to discuss things on forums. Just Google it mate so there's nothing for us to read.

Kind of late, you spelling it out like that.

Like it isn't exactly what you do.

But hey, it's a change up from the 'gnarly little cvnt' persona you previously pursued with such vigour over several nics.

    Cheers for the suggestion Kitty!
I dig the colour and style, I've actually had my eye on a nest of similar tables that you and Nammers have suggested.

Probably not , but he does get triggered by cost and prices.
I hope he has enough in his pension pot to keep him accustomed to his meagre lifestyle in the jungle that he has become accustomed to.

It's more a motivational thread for me to get my finger out and get stuck in.
Things have been progressing steadily since this thread was started and I'm in the prepping and painting stages now.

Get a 'Beatles' tea tray like my Auntie Pat used to have. Serve your squid from the ship canal on it.

Or pick up a Union Jack umbrella when you're at Wemberly for the playoffs final in May 2026.

    Sort it out, Joe.

I think it's commonly referred to as sarcasm, maybe you could check your Theasaurus for me.

You really need to completely exclude the option of the 'suave put down' response.

Consuming copious amounts of cheap supermarket alcohol seems to help you do this quite well.
