    Help With Windows Movie Maker

I'm trying to edit a video with some music on it.

I've had a bash with this free Windows job & I can't edit the length of my clips by the 10th of a second, only by great big jumps of a whole second at a time, or even more, by moving the edit bar side to side.

Is this how it's supposed to be?

I'm trying to get the picture to change as each different part of the song kicks in, but it's all over the shop & looks shit.

Does anybody know where I'm going wrong or is the software really this bad?

Any suggestion as to what I should be using (as long as it's free)?

I don't know for sure but outside your red cicrcle (at 10 o'clock approximately) there is a magnifying glass.
Tried to use that one to expand the time scale?

The preview window on the right is precise, i.e. frame-by-frame for cutting and creating separate bits which you can drag to the storyboard.
