    Dual email question

Is it possible to be notified in one email account when you have mail in another?

For instance, if you have had a Hotmail account for years but also have a gmail account that you don't use much but may get mail - is there a way to be notified in ones Hotmail inbox when ones Gmail account recieves new mail?

My advice: Just keep movin' straight ahead. Every now and then you find yourself in a different place."

Yep. I receive e-mails for both my Aussie and my Thai user names at home in Australia even though my Thai user name is with Loxinfo.

You just have to add your other user name to your recipient list.

Not sure, but I think you have to use Outlook Express to do this.

Yes, go to settings and enable email forwarding to whichever account you want. All you have to do is enter the email address.

You can even setup your Gmail account to send messages using your Hotmail address as your "From" address.

Gmail's custom 'From:' feature lets you send messages with another address in place of your Gmail address, making it easier to manage multiple accounts from the Gmail interface.
To add a custom 'From:' address:
    1. Make sure you can sign in with the address you'd like to add. You'll need to access the other address before Gmail will let you send from it. Please note: If you'd like to send from another Gmail username, be sure to sign up for the account first.
    2. Sign in to Gmail.
    3. Click Settings along the top of any page, and open the Accounts tab.
    4. Under Send mail as, click Add another email address.
    5. In the Name field, enter your full name.
    6. In the Email address field, enter the email address you'd like to send from.
    7. (Optional) When someone replies to a message you sent using a custom 'From:' address, the reply will be delivered to the 'From:' address rather than your Gmail address. If you'd like replies to be delivered to Gmail or a third account, you'll need to enter a 'reply-to' address. To do this, click Specify a different reply-to address and enter the email address you'd like.
    8. Click Next Step >> and then click Send Verification. Gmail will send a verification message to your other email address to confirm that you own it.
    9. Open your other account and either click the link in the message Gmail sent or enter the confirmation code in the Accounts section of your Gmail settings.

^ You can't get Outlook for Mac - or Mozilla Firefox or Ovada or whatever it is.

Just one application - Safari, and it works without ever giving you a virus, of letting hackers in or showing you pop up boxes every second and a half.

That said, having just spent 10k on my Macbook Pro - it is now slower, I can't upload photos from my camera or render fast/slow motion clips in imovie.

Yep, well you can have the same security on a PC for a 1/3 of the price..... just so long as you don't use windows.

I just got a notice from my hotmail account that after the end of june, it could not be syncronized with outlook and that I would have to use msn live or some thing like that. I deleted it in the hopes that they would forget. altho outlook does have it's flaws, I've grown used to it and really don't want to give it up.
