    the opera browser

I have recently started using opera and really like it.

it does however have one little glitch when using forums.

when clicking on new posts, it indicates a new post has been made by someone so you click on the thread (post).
    it's not there.

you go to the previous last post.

basically, it doesn't update in real time.

you need to go and read some other stuff and then it shows up.

anyone else use opera and can this glitch be fixed?

^I used it and it has some nice things about it, but in the end I returned to FF for it's extra flexibility.

We've just upgraded all the PC's at work to this IE7 thingie. Seems alright, no real issues yet. Like the tabbed browsing, means I can switch with ease between TD and another page that could be vaugely work-related should the need arise.

I have 3 browsers on my machines now.

IE7 is my least favourite, very fussy.

as I said, the shortcuts thingy in opera is quite lovely.

think I have found my staple browser in spite of only downloading it for very pathetic trolling purposes.

    they are tiny.

don't know what size opera is, but it downloaded in about 3 minutes.

^Hmm, interesting. I'm a creature of habit though, crap as it might be I'm very reluctant to move away from IE.

Besides which, there's more than a hint of communistic bent in not using the one from the Co. with the most market share. Fecking Commies!

Yep been using opera for a couple of years now and like it.

The refresh posts problem can be dealt with by pressing cntrl and F5 to do a server refresh of page.

Another great feature are the mouse gestures you can set up for common / repeated button presses.

The main thing i dont like is the way when you open something in a new tab, that new tab immediately takes centre stage....even though it aint loaded the page yet. Firefox doesnt do that.

Also, some websites have been developed and seemingly never tested by the developer in Opera.those guys should be shot!

I started to use Opera a while ago, but went back to Firefox as it doesn't work very well with Yahoo! Mail, nor does it display pages properly. Firefox is still by far the best, and any of the Opera features you might like can be easily downloaded as a FF plug-in.

^^Ah yes, if your building web pages then you have to view them in opera, it shows all the fok ups there are, then again I suppose it is easier for them to just copy and paste this.

This website is best viewed in some other crappy browser due to my inability to make a good web page.

I think you will find the problem is that it does display pages properly, ie no auto resize and stuff like that.

I think that Firefox is the most correct browser. But, if you're writing websites, you need to check them in as many different browsers as possible, despite that fact that only IE & FF really matter.
