    Youtube downloads

How does one download a Youtube video?

No, currently you can't download our videos to your computer. YouTube's video player is designed to be used within your browser as an Internet experience.

Can I download videos to watch later?

using Firefox, there are various add-ons that allow you to download youtube and other web videos, but they are in flash format, so can only be played on a flash pleyer or through FF.

Just search for youtube on the FF extensions page.

Download helper for Firefox is pretty good. However, I use a Mac most of the time and you can just pick the files you want from the activity window in Safari. Very easy.

Not sure if you can do this in the windows version of Safari, actually i don't know anyone who's even tried Safari on windows...

I can't understand why people would want a YouTube video. The quality is dreadful.

    Youtube videos

Try keepvid.com, copy and paste the URL from the Youtube page into the box in the keepvid.com page and then download and rename the file to something relevant ( the files will save as getvideo.FLV) with .FLV as the extension. Windows Media player classic should play it but you may need mega codec pack(?). Sorry, forgot to mention RIVA FLV player will do the business as well.
