I watched a show on TV last night about how the Earth formed & life began. There was quite a bit of speculation in the program, but that is to be expected, bearing in mind the content.
It was an okay show. Nothing special. They started talking about Global Warming & being mindful that it is all a scam, I listened to what the presenter had to say.
Turns out, a few hundred million years ago, the whole planet was like a giant snowball. Everything was covered in ice & snow. This reflected the heat back towards the Sun, so there was no way for the planet to warm itself up. Cutting a long story short, volcanos erupting co2 into the atmosphere caused the planet to heat up & life, as we know it today, flourishes.
The planet went from -50 to +50 in just a couple of hundred years (the most extreme climate change this planet has ever known) & all the ice melted into the oceans. On the back of this, life has since gone on to dominate the sea, land & sky, in millions of different forms.
So, while I am prepared to admit that co2 in the air is responsible for warming up the planet, a few degrees temperature difference here & there has absolutely no bad effects whatsever & people should stop going on about it like it does.
If the air wasn't full of co2, that's when we should start to panic.
I was wrong - but also right.
