Here you go, everything you ever needed to know about Koh Larn, well apart from hotels on Samae Beach.

    Report after trip

Well we stayed one nite at Nual Beach at the only resort there 600 baht, we went to Samae first but the resort there wanted 1200 baht. Nual was nice a lot of russians there, apparently they like monkeys so the moto driver informed the missus.

The resort was distinctly unkempt, but we had no other choice. lecky by a generator overnite

the remaining nites we decided to stay in town at chusri resort again 600 which seems to be the cheapest price for accom.

We rented a bike which was 300 per day, the tank is full when u rent and the cos of fuel is 36 baht on island. Driving there is not as difficult as it looks, the hills can be taken on an automatic as we did with the missus on the back. In the town most ppl drive sensibly.

There is a 7/11 which can be useful and behind is a restaurant that fdoes good burger n great chips at a reasonable 95 baht. I take these little hols as opportunities to OD on farang food as normally i live on thai food.

I would recommend a visit to Hard Tien which is found if you continue on the samae road and dont take the turn off, you have to walk on a pathway against the rocks. The sand is soft, the water is clear and the sunsets are great.

Overall, I would recommend just staying in Town at Chusri resort and rent a bike to explore as food at nitetime at the beaches can be restricted to a few dishes.

Cheers and hope you enjoy it.

PS boat is still 20 baht and the guy who runs it looks like he is wearing about the equiv in gold hehe
