Should some posters be excluded from the issues section.

Recently we have had some great, intelligent debates in the issues section with people who have a wide range of political views managing to address some contraversial issues with maturity and a good level of informed debate.

However there are a handful of single issue posters who seem intent on turning every thread into a die-muzzie-rag-head-die crapfest or just carry on personal arguements regardless of the topic at hand.

I'm no angel and have made a few personal attacks in the issues section myself but the uninformed one issue rag head posters are really dragging the section down.

Should people with a long track record of this kind of behaviour be barred from posting in the issues section?

mad_dog: For the chronic unread, bring-nothing-to-the-debate, hate filled morons.... Yes bar them and let them carry on their antics in the Captain's Lounge.
They champion falsehood, support the butcher against the victim, the oppressor against the innocent child. May God mete them the punishment they deserve

Well, guess that's why we have our venerable Headmaster (stroller) to moderate. And, he's doing a bang-up job as much as I hate to compliment the #$%&*!

The Yellowtails etc will soon be weeded out...

    Thanks for the compliment.

No, we don't want to 'bar' anyone, though we will if necessary. Everyone finds something else offensive or irritating, but as long as it doesn't continually go against the guidelines or attracts many complaints, we'll just delete or move the few unacceptable posts we get.
It seems the Muslim-bashing is happening more in the news section these days, I suspect modding may be slightly tightened there in future.

We all know who goes over the top, and they get special scrutiny. Maybe we need more mods so that there's always one online, but as Stroller is here 24/7...

Fortunately the mods come from a wide spectrum of political/social/economic backgrounds (that's putting it nicely), so nearly everything is covered!

    Great idea, I agree 110% !
Lets make them wear a pink colored veal so everyone can see that they have been barred from the issue section at Teakdoor.

There is much going on in the world and the opportunity to discuss these issues and how they affect your world is always relevant. Your opinion is important and though we might not solve the problems confronting society, we just might open someones eyes. What is your opinion?

As you can see by the guide lines set forth----- everyone is entitled to their opinion maddog

EVEN IF YOU AND STOLLER DON'T LIKE THOSE OPINIONS

A Moderator's opinion on a topic has nothing to do with his/her moderating.

If a Mod does allow their opinions to affect their moderating then they should not be moderating.

Stroller already deleted my post regarding this.

Boon Mee also posts on the soc.culture.thai newsgroup , he has for years and most of his posts are troll posts baiting with his political diatribes.

I don't know what you are referring to.

I was just making a general comment because I read two posts above about the opinions of moderators etc.

I think my post is supported by folks. Just my general comments.

I deleted it because you implied Boon Mee is Tchiowa, which in fact is your second nick here - got nothing to do with any political opinion of mine which couldn't be any further from Boon Mee's.

Do I need to say more?
