The site I listed below should be where all the news stations get their voting results for Florida. You will be able to view the results/progress before the news stations are able to report it.
Florida reporting will not start until 8:00 am Thai time the 5th (Florida is in two Time Zones, Central and Eastern) and Florida will not release polls results until all the polls have been closed (Miami’s polls will close at 7:00 am Thai time), in Florida (8pm EST).

Once you open the page look on the left hand side of the page and you’ll see “Races”,..hit on “Presidential” beneath “Races” and you’ll find the totals (vote count) as they are reported.
Most of you Non-Americans who might view this page will be surprised by how many other candidates where running for the presidential slot, after hearing about only two (McCain and Obama) for the past several months. But yes,…….we have a larger selection to choose from if we wish.
If you want to see how “One County” voted,….look down the page a bit and you’ll see “Races by County”,…….. click on the arrow and pick any county you want to see the results/progress for.
Take for an example (open) Miami-Dade where I am from (more Liberal than most county’s in Florida),……….you’ll see what was on my ballot (I wasn’t able to vote on all Districts, only the one where my home address is located) and everything I was given an opportunity to vote on,……………judges, State Senator/Representative, State Constitutional Amendments, etc.
County’s to watch to see if they are finished voting are (because they are the larger counties and might have a large impact on the result):
Miami-Dade (Miami/South Beach) 1.2 million
Broward (Ft. Lauderdale) 1 million
Palm Beach .8 Million
Hillsborough (Tampa) .7 million
Orange (Disney World) .6 million
I posted this message for two reasons. The first was to inform Non-Americans how our voting/counting process works (after polls have been closed). The second and most important reason is because Florida is going to be a close race for all of its Electoral Votes (27). If you’ll remember back in the 2000 Presidential election Bush won this state by only 500 and something votes, even though Bush lost the popular vote in the US (Bush won more electoral votes but lost the popular vote in the 2000 election). If it wasn’t for Florida going to Bush [because Katharine Harris (Bitch), Florida’s Secretary of State at the time stopped the recount and the Supreme Court interjected],……I don’t think the US would be in the mess it is in today (under the Bush regime).
It could be an early evening (late morning for us here in Thailand) to find out who the next president of the United States will be. If Obama takes Florida he’ll (might) be our next president. Obama already has Pennsylvania 21 (CA55, CT7, DC3, DE3, HI4, IA7, IL31, MA12, MD10, ME4, MI17, MN10, NJ15, NY31, OR7, RI4, VT3, WA11, WI10) in the bag (as polls show by a large margin). Both of these states (Penn and Fla) are on the eastern side of the states,…………………..we should find out their results first. If Obama does take Florida,…….the rest of the evening (morning here) we’ll be watching Obama supporters celebrating (maybe with a landslide victory,.earning over 375 electoral votes).

I'll repost it tomorrow.

I believe this means they will not release until the last polls in the country are closed? Think we have to wait for Alaska to close 3 or 4 hours later.Originally Posted by S Landreth

The Economist has come out behind Obama. Interesting Leader giving their reasoning and their doubts too.
Never mind. McCain has Dick Cheyney and Arnold Schwarzenegger on his side.
Saw that just today. McCain is certainly less than thrilled I would bet.Originally Posted by Thormaturge

I'm cancelling my subscription. The eds are asking Americans to "take a chance and make Obama president." They have been leaning this way for a few weeks with no real clear reasoning. Not like The Econ of old. And calling the election beforehand with "It's Time" on the cover? I hope they wake up with egg on their faces on Wednesday.
You said tourism-related. You are way out of your depth on these issues, mad hatter. Stick to what you know, sweeping up leaves in the moo ban.
I would have expected this to happen.Originally Posted by Boon Mee

Very early exit polls . . .
Obama wins in earliest vote - US Election - smh.com.auDemocrat Barack Obama has come up a big winner in the presidential race in Dixville Notch, New Hampshire, where the nation's first election day votes were cast and counted.
Senator Obama defeated Republican John McCain 15-6. Independent Ralph Nader was also on the ballot, but received no votes.
The first voter, following a tradition established in 1948, was picked ahead of the midnight (4pm AEDT) voting and the rest of the town's registered voters followed suit in the first few minutes of the day.
Town Clerk Rick Erwin says the northern New Hampshire town is proud of its tradition, but says the most important thing is that the turnout represents 100 per cent vote.
President George Bush won the vote in Dixville Notch in 2004 on the way to his re-election.
The residents of another tiny New Hampshire town, Hart's Location, also began voting at midnight, according to a long-standing tradition.
