like i said, what's she afraid of?

how's she going to stand up to the people who 'want to destroy our way of life' when she can't even answer a couple of policy questions from real reporters?

Maybe Sarah Palin fears being exposed as an ignorant, inexperienced and vindictive hillbilly. Maybe that cracker might let words like "sambo" slip out, as she apparently did a few months ago in a restaurant:

^ You are so funny, FP.
I do agree that many small town folk in AK and Canada are racist. Unfortunately, many of the First Nations and Inuit have lost their livelihoods and many are on welfare. Then there is alcoholism and abuse. It is sad.
Still, I think Palin's fast rise has created alot of resentment in AK. And don't forget, her husband's grandma is Yup'ik, which makes him part Inuit.

Palin needs some time to study the republican platform as set out at the convention and she needs to be brought up to speed on McCain's proposed agenda. So what's wrong with that?

ray do you want explore Cindy McCains theft of drugs any further? We can. We can learn if she was caught out or did she turn herself into a rehab center. We can look for a news item which says how many she was stealing and for how long and during what years so we know the regulations and review of records in place at that time. We could gather more details and maybe we can come to a conclusion as to whether poor people were denied any drugs.

I want to add I don't think you're the pettiest most puny pip squeak on TD. I was looking to post words which start with the letter "p". I enjoy doing that while you you enjoy being a propagandist. It's what we do.

I find the level of partisanship mind boggling.

would it not be possible to criticise palin for racist bitch and still be a republican or does it have to be as all or nothing as our TD comedy republicans are making it?
    Are they all like that?

Maybe she was doing her Dave Chapelle or Carlos Mencia act.

Does everyone have a subscription to the LA Progressive?
Hey look at the founders' photo:

    OK.

Thankfully not. Believe it or not CM there are many registered Republicans (and Democrats) that do not resort to spouting partisan slogans and character attacks. In the past they were referred to as "the silent majority". They continue to remain silent amid the din of partisan rhetoric and will, as they always have, determine who will be elected.

    Selective listening CMN?

Quite a few posters here see the candidates for what they are.

Obama -- inexperienced, smooth, platform of change
McCain -- old, been around the block, aware of his party's unpopularity
Biden -- frumpy, tenured, complimentary to ticket
    Palin -- bizarre, young, fresh-faced

You, on the other hand, seem to have jumped into the Dem pool head first without an inkling of reservation.

Ivor Biggun -- I've entered several countries without a passport as a member of the US military -- including yours, multiple times.

If your in charge of the new World Order you definitely need a passport to visit all these countries that you are taking care of. Unless you are looking for weapons of mass destruction...then you are right....
If you are standing in front of my frontdoor with a M16 I would'nt bother asking for your ID.

Actually what I was trying to say is that Palin probably does'nt know which country London, Berlin, Paris belong to. Not to mention who is the prime minister or president of those countries.

She's running for vice president. Not Supreme Leader of the planet.

I'd say she does. Her little "country" is more than half the size of Europe.

Traveling on a military plane, getting off it to shake some soldiers hands, is not what I call experience in foreign policy.

I hope history repeats itself. In the 1984 Miss Alaska contest, Sarah Palin lost to Marilyne Blackburn, the first African-American Miss Alaska.

Most polls still have Obama in the lead, there is one out there that has it tied up. And Zogby has McCain now in the lead.

    Here are a few polls:

    http://www.swamppolitics.com/news/po...ity%20poll.pdf

This one appears to be attempting to tell the blue team how they can make-up some ground on the national security issue. But what they say seems to be exactly what the blue team has already been doing, and they have been loosing ground.

    From the linky:
Which party will better handle National security:
    Red team - 49
    Blue team - 35
Which party will better handle combatting terrorism:
    Red team - 48
    Blue team - 33
According to the poll the blue team was gaining ground on this issue from mid '03 all the way thru until around Oct '07 (they took a hit around Dec '06 but had been recovering). Ever since Oct '07 the blue team has been loosing ground on this issue.

    From the linky:
Which party do you associate more with the term "Too hesitant to use force"?
    Likely voters:
    Red team: 21
    Blue team: 59
    Undecideds:
    Red team: 11
    Blue team: 59
The report in regard to the poll seems to count these numbers against the blue team. But I don't think it is bad for the leaders to be hesitant to use force.

A couple of quotes included in the report on the hesitancy to use force:

From a Democratic man, Virginia Beach:
Democrates don't want to win. They don't want to kick ass.
From an Independent Woman, Virginia Beach:
If there was a bully in the play yard that's going to throw dirt in my face, I think the Democrats might let him go just to get along but the Republicans wouldn't and they'll standup for this country a little bit better than Democrats will.
Do you think the Democrats or the Republicans would do a better job of ensuring a strong military?
    Red team - 57
    Blue team - 27
    Both/Neither - 16
The report indicates that most Americans feel the Democrats follow the polls, not their principles:

A quote from an independent man, Columbus:
You are on a teeter totter (with the Democrats0. Okay, today the wind is blowing this way so I'm going to be able to go here. Tomorrow, the wind will change direction and I'll go over here.
This is another point where I am not so sure this is completely a negative. Will it is good for one to stand by their principles. There is also a point at which elected officials have to consider the feelings/ principles of those who have elected them as well. Not a clear picture either way because I think there certainly are situation where one should stand by their convitions come hell or high water, while there are others in which they should possibly conceed to the wishes of those that have elected them.

The main things those whole completed this report think need to be done for the blue team to take back ground on this issue are:
Define the Republican approach as "reckless and out of touch"
Define the Democratic approach as "tough and smart"
Which it seems to me have already been the points the blue team have been using all along - yet they still seem to be loosing ground.

A couple of more posts with polls to follow.
"Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it, you'd have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, it takes religion" - Steven Weinberg
