My guess would be there are some (small percentage of) sick, sad and twisted folks around here and posting lies on the internet is the only enjoyment they get out of their sad, pathetic lives.

It is my guess that people with honest compliants are going to be extremely offended by that kind of personal comment, and it will only motivate them to continue with their criticism. Only a fool would claim that his/her organisation is beyond complaints and criticism, but some do seem to think that they are perfect and thus entitled to smother it by any means possible.

Here's the problem, Smeg. Our trainees generally do not complain, and thats my point. We are not perfect, but in the entire TW crap, there was one complaint from a real trainee. ONE! (or that is all I can recall). And that guy was treated fairly and given a full refund despite the fact that his course ran just fine and the rest of his group finished the course without a problem. yet he still came on to complain about us... nice guy.

We have to deal with complaints and we deal with them fairly. We SOLICIT suggestions and complaints in our end-of-course feedback. But if you notice, the only IDIOT on this thread is Camels#!%. He admits he has never met me and never done business with me. Yet I have to deal with him comparing with with a pedophile. THAT MAKES ME CRANKY. Only human nature.

Because it had the air of some kind of set up, especially with Bruce demanding to video it. I instead went for an unannounced look around, and my report on that (dismissed by Bruce as he had no control over it) was in a thread that was banished to MKP some time ago.

But to be honest I haven't given much of a damn about TEFL courses for 2-3 years now, and I read ajarnform for only 5 minutes or so per month. Its slightly interesting now and again, but I really can't be arsed with it. This thread is instead to talk about why the criticism happens (and seems to be much more heated these days).

^^ But Bruce, why do you feel the need to always argue with people you see as nutcases? Why do you not allow people the benefit of deciding whether these people are nutcases themselves? You feel the need to tell people that these people are nutcases, and that in itself looks somewhat desperate, as if your organisation is so frail as to be damaged by rumours on internet forums.

Now Smeg you know why wanted to video it. You are incapable of being objective with TESOL courses and thats your fault! I just wanted a back up in case you said something that I felt simply was not true (like our delapadated school or our group of very young backpacker trainees).

it is more heated these days because of the lies. It made a big splash when some idiot made up the story that I got him fired from his job. TW is quoted all over the net and people still believe it!

Sounds fair. As he'd be no doubt writing up a report on it to broadcast to the www. 'twould be best to record such an event to make sure the truth was always present. Everyone would be fairly represented. Video tape it maybe.

^Absolute crap. I decide myself how I evaluate things, and don't let the person/thing I'm evaluating tell me how I will and won't evaluate it and the conditions he/it will be evaluated under.

BTW I'm far from an idiot and so ad hominem is your defense, it is a logical fallacy taught to me and hundreds of thousands of others in high school. Why not try a technique a little newer than two-Century-old philosophical doctrines?

I'd never read about your school on TW, have no interest in training programs at all, don't need one and neither do half the people who buy them. What drew my attention to you and your school was you! When I saw your homeschool thread I searched your name and saw how sorrowfully you handled yourself, never for a minute would I take what some guy says on a blog as God's word. You convinced me your program might be lacking, just by reading, not reading about you, but by reading you.

Although I read all your report this thread whining five years ago I ignored it because your language was far too demanding, and the rest of us ignored it too.
