Tenderloin bars were a great place to people watch. Amazing city, never knew who you would run across or what you might see during a normal stroll through the city.
But I left right after the earthquake of 89, haven't been back so I suspect lots have changed.
Used to date a Thai chick from Khon Kaen working in a Thai restrauant right next to the Grasslands bar in Chinatown. Is the Grasslands still open? Weird crowd hung out there. Merchant seamen, artists, drunks and whatever scum that happened to drift in off the street. Loved it. |
