My missus had a monkey jump on her and bite her pretty bad. It esulted in a trip to the clinic for tetanus and rabies shots.
It seems to be very common. As soon as she was bit, a samlor driver approached and offered to take us to the clinic. A couple of blocks away we found about 4 clinics in a row with signs for rabies shots. The doc said in the high season there is a steady stream of farangs in and out of her office that have been bitten.
Pretty pricey as well - 1500 baht. I am not sure, but believe they had a two tier pricing system. She also has to have 4 more rabies shots.
