It is far past time for her to stand up concede and do all in her power to convince her supporters to unite behind Obama. Continuing will only bring her further disrespect and alienation among the Dems.

who knows what she's going to do after tuesday...i could imagine any number of possibilities: bow out (semi) gracefully, suspend her campaign, keep it alive and vow to take it to the convention floor, file a lawsuit or who knows what else.Originally Posted by Milkman

can't understand why the bitch won't let go
Hillary begging members of Democrat for nomination although she's trailing Obama! Funny.
Obamas challenge, when his nomination is finally, inevitably announced, is to minimise the electoral damage caused by disgruntled Hillary supporters. My guess is he'll offer her some high profile role in his Administration- perhaps health care.
Hillary, Sec of Health and Human Services? Think that post would satisfy her? I dunno. I believe her ego wouldn't fit through the door. A paltry 67,000 employees but handles one of every four federal dollars ... maybe. He could make her secdef if he plans to dove-out and turn the Marines into camp scouts. Merit badges awarded for patchwork quilting and square dancing.
Why did the DNC cave in and allow half of the Fla. and Mich. votes? Proving once again that rules aren't rules. The game of scheduling primaries to steal the spotlight will continue because the rules weren't upheld. "Look at us! We're important! Our state carries a lot of weight!" Twats.
They have the discipline of stray cats.

She won in Puerto Rico today but turn out was very low so her hope of being able to claim she has the most popular votes has taken a hit. It's the delegate votes that count anyway so popular vote can only be used to convince uncommitted super delegates to go with Clinton. As of now 2118 delegates are needed to win the nomination. Obama has 2070 and Clinton 1915. 207 super delegates are still uncommitted. Should the primaries in Montana and South Dakota go as polls suggest, Obama would only need 27 of the 207 uncommitted super delegates to win the nomination. Given the push by senior Dems to have uncommitted super delegates commit by 3 June, Obama will be able to claim the nomination this week.Originally Posted by raycarey
Predict Hillary will concede by weeks end and do all she can to bring her supporters to Obama's camp.
Dems have been plagued for years with their nutty primary rules. If there is a lesson to be taken from the current debacle, it is revamp the entire primary process. Agree, the Florida and Mich primaries should not have had any bearing on the nomination as per the original agreement from all the candidates. Hillary had no objections to this until she fell so far behind she had no hope of winning and suddenly began insisting the votes be counted.Originally Posted by Texpat
Indeed Norton. I would have expected the Republican nominations to have been more rancorous this year- the opposite proved to be the case.
the 2008 model of mccain sold out the 2000 'maverick' mccain....and the other candidates had too many flaws. but yes, it was surprising how quickly he wrapped it up.Originally Posted by sabang
IMO the main question is whether mccain is doing remarkably well in a year when bush should be bringing him down even further, or is he doing poorly in a year when the dems have been beating each other up for months and months.
they should have regional primaries (4 or 5) that vote on rotating on a schedule.....for example, in 2012 the NE is first, in 2016 SW is first, etc...Originally Posted by Norton

^Your welcome. Guess you keep a running check on your repo, eh, Ray? Did you call her for guv? Likely missed it amidst all your drivel. Good on you, mommy's boy.
for the time being, i'll let that post stand.
now then back on topic....
as obama has all but captured the nomination, was this the biggest upset in presidential primary history?
if not, what was?
Poor Hillary the press is out to get her:

She will not go quitely into the night.
IMHO does not seem likely that she will be given the VP nod - maybe she'd settle for getting her, Bill, and Chelsea all jobs with Obama?

Please do understand that Obama will not protect Jews if elected. I suppose that is in your favour, no, even though you reject your Jewish heritage.
You mean Hillary or McCain would protect Jason, from your trolling?
it will be interesting to see if she concedes tomorrow night.Originally Posted by Bugs

Expect him to clinch the nomination in the next hour or two.
This seems to be the case. If msnbc is correct. If....note the word "planned."

Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois claimed the Democratic presidential nomination Tuesday night, NBC News projected based on its tally of convention delegates. By doing so, he shattered a barrier more than two centuries old to become the first black candidate ever nominated by a major political party for the nation’s highest office.
“Tonight, I can stand before you and say that I will be the Democratic nominee for president of the United States,” Obama planned to say in a victory celebration in St. Paul, Minn., at the site of the convention that will nominate his Republican opponent in the fall, Sen. John McCain of Arizona.
I don't think she's a gambler. That's is to say she won't run for NY governor and then run against McCain's VP come 2012. She won't give up her powerful and prestigious Senate seat to make a risky run at the presidency from the NY governor position. She'll stay in Congress and work her way up the ladder of power within the Senate.
