Given it's safe to assume none of the candidates are guilty of income tax evasion, their (or their spouses) individual tax returns are of no interest to me in forming an opinion on who will be the best Pres. Being rich hardly disqualifies one for the Presidency nor does it qualify one as Mitt Romney discovered.

As of today Obama has pulled even with Hillary in the super delegate count 273/273 as more defections from Hillary's camp move to Obama.
Prediction: Win or lose W. Virginia, Hillary will bow out throwing her support to Obama!!!
of course not....in fact, it seems to be a prerequisite.Originally Posted by Norton
however, how about some measure of transparency? particularly since her husband (you know, the 'straight talker') is flying around the country on her dime.
Your call RC but for me this is about as important as Obama's preacher, his wife's thesis, a remark he made in gasp..."San Francisco" or some antiwar protester he had dinner with. I will let the Crash McCain crowd revel in their steadfast fantasy that McCain, their "Great White Hope" can actually beat Obama.Originally Posted by raycarey
All have the same in common with tax returns. Irrelevant to the issues that will make a difference in who can best lead the country. Ronald Reagan knew Jane Fonda and her father Henry, did that make him a "bad guy".Originally Posted by Boon Mee

Reagan shook hands with many folks, from time to time one needs to make alliances with the enemy, after all.
But who does the extreme-leftist, America-hating traitor "Hanoi Jane" endorse this time?
Yep, the black racist Marxist candidate!![]()

^ I bet her savings are in the Bahamas.

^Nah, I would say she favors Belize with an offshore trust in Jersey, and some holdings in Luxembourg or Lichtenstein perhaps.![]()

^ Maybe Vietnam?

^That's too damn funny. But, you know what, I heard Viet wants to develop an offshore private banking practice, so maybe you're right! Jane Fonda private banking in Vietnam.
Oh, the irony of it all....

JF bearer bonds?

^That's good as gold girl. I'll take any bearer bond anytime.

^ Yep. Me, too. But if they were JF Vietnam bearer bonds, where would you take them?

^ The Ho Chi Min trail?

^ Ya, no paper trail. hehe
i don't know about the rest of you, but after that exchange i feel like i need to take a shower.
anyway, more bad news for mccain....not only will republicans be writing in ron paul's name, the libertarian have an official candidate....
Barr announces Libertarian White House bid - Decision '08 - MSNBC.comWASHINGTON - Former Republican Rep. Bob Barr launched a Libertarian Party presidential bid Monday, saying voters are hungry for an alternative to the status quo who would dramatically cut the federal government. His candidacy throws a wild card into the White House race that many believe could peel away votes from Republican Sen. John McCain given the candidates' similar positions on fiscal policy.
Barr, who has hired Ross Perot's former campaign manager, acknowledged that some Republicans have tried to discourage him from running.
oh, and btw, the GOP has adopted a 'new' theme for the upcoming election...
'change you deserve'.
House G.O.P. Adopts Change Theme - The Caucus - Politics - New York Times Blog
"Change" has been a slogan for a long time in Presidential elections. The polling reveals that the world "change" is a popular term and concept - especially when the economy is in a slump.
Inside the beltway or out of it, "change" is often used during the election season.

^Milky, I think the only true change agent this election is Obama. It would be fascinating if he further defied logic by picking a republican VP running mate, someone like Hagel. Now, that would be really bucking partisan traditions!

^Yeah, as much as I would like to see him pick someone like Hagel, and truly heal the rifts between the parties, I don't see how the Demo leadership will let him pick anyone outside the party. Dream on.
Maybe sooner IMO. All the indications are there.Originally Posted by Milkman
Obama has already begun his run against McCain if his WV, campaign speech's are an indicator. Not a mention of Hillary with all aimed at McCain's policies. To her credit Hillary is now taking shots at McCain with nothing much to say about Obama.
