The best way to disarm, of course, is to pay "concerned citizens" (Sunnis that were killing Americans a year ago) $800,000 a day and arming them. After they clear out Al Queda to consolidate their power in the Sunni Triangle, they will then politely hand all of their rifles back to the US and hope the Kurds and Shiites look out for their best interest in the new Iraq.as well as a measure to disarm the various Shiite and Sunni militias still operating throughout Iraq. This will not be easy. But the Iraqis are trying to resolve matters in a civil and democratic manner.
If Iran wasn't interfering in Iraq, I would actually support regime change. Because any country stupid enough not to interfere doesn't deserve to go on. If the Chinese invaded Mexico, don't you think the US would be meddling just a bit?!...Obama also pledges he will be “a tough negotiator with Syria and Iran, sending a clear message that they need to stop meddling in Iraq’s affairs.” I am sure that Ahmadinejad and Asaad are thinking, “Obama’s going to stop us from meddling in Iraq. Oh yeah, you and what army? Oh, that’s right. There is no army because Obama withdrew it.” Obama might as well send House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to be his envoy for all the good it would do.
Talking to our enemies. Only hippies like Nixon (China) and Reagan (USSR) do shit like that. But like many liberal Democrats, Obama takes the “blame America” view of the world. “America’s standing has suffered,” said Obama, “Our diplomacy has been compromised by a refusal to talk to people we don’t like.”
We are not in a war. Our conventional army defeated their conventional army. We are fighting an insurgency. An insurgency is a reaction to an OCCUPATION. John McCain wants to continue an occupation of a foreign country and Obama wants to end an occupation of a foreign country.During a speech in Madison, Wisconsin, the night of his Potomac triumph, Obama declared, “John McCain won’t be able to say that I ever supported this war in Iraq, because I opposed it from the beginning.” For that matter, John McCain won’t be able to say that Barack Obama wants to win the war in Iraq either.

Clinton faces daunting delegate deficit
Clinton faces daunting delegate deficit - Yahoo! NewsBy DAVID ESPO, AP Special Correspondent 27 minutes ago
WASHINGTON - Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton must win 57 percent of the remaining primary and caucus delegates to erase Barack Obama's lead, a daunting task requiring landslide-sized victories by a struggling presidential candidate.

This is a desperate power hungry woman.
Clinton attacks Obama as all talk, little substance
Clinton attacks Obama as all talk, little substance - Yahoo! NewsHIDALGO, Texas (Reuters) - Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton attacked rival Barack Obama as all talk and little substance on Wednesday, trying to slow the momentum that has given him 10 straight victories in the race for the party's presidential nomination.
"We don't need on-the-job training for the next president of the United States," Clinton said in courting Hispanics at a rousing rally in this south Texas town on the Mexican border.
She has to attack him for something i guess.
That's about the best she can do.
The story just broke in the New York Times online edition. McCain and the 40 year-old lobbyist sure hung out a lot together. There was a suggestion of an affair and reports of serious concern by McCain's associates about her presence. It's damaging because the woman is a lobbyist who may have influenced McCain on telecom legislation. She's 40 and personally I wouldn't touch her with a barge pole, but McCain is a 71 year-old man who doesn't hang out in Thailand, so he may have done her.

I really believe that if McCain is the best the Republicans can field that we may see the biggest landslide victory in American history when Obama becomes the next President.

^^that story has zero factual foundation. If this is all the dirt they have on Mc Cain then they're in trouble. The NYT published under pressure from the New Republic!
^It could easily be a landslide in the other direction, depending on which way the winds blows.![]()

^Earl, remember I was once a registered republican. I voted for Reagan and for George Bush Sr.
I think the Repulicans are screwed for the next 8 years.
*And, I blame that twat GWB for all this shit.

^Earl, I hear you, but I'm afraid this guy has done more damage to the Republican party than anyone in history.
He's an idiot. I know you don't agree with that, but he's fuked the Republicans and I hate him for that.
Blame it on corporate America, they bought him the chair and they are the ones who are pulling his strings.Originally Posted by chinthee
that mccain was quite probably cheating on his shrew of a wife (who is also a junkie, btw) is not the main issue....in fact, to most people, it's a a non-issue.
what is important, however, is that this woman (31 years his junior) was a lobbyist who had business before a senate committee chaired by mccain.
brings back memories of the keating five, doesn't it?

[quote=raycarey;539820]Only an amoral beast like Hillary Clinton would think about stealing the nomination if she ends up with less popular votes than Obama. Unless she sweeps the remaining states, she loses all legitimacy and moral authority in trying to claim the nomination. She may try to use 'super delegates' and seat delegates from non-certified elections in Michigan and Florida. Hubert Humphrey was nominated by insiders in 1968 and there was rioting in the streets of Chicago. If she gets away with something like this, it will make Chicago look like a love-fest.Originally Posted by Norton

I think GWB was dealt a tough hand.
You've bought into the whole monday morning QB defeatist rhetoric. Whatever happened to the American "can do" POV?
The economic fiasco the US is facing began December 23rd 1913.
I'm afraid GWB is a puppet for the big interests which swayed Woodrow Wilson also.
why because they actually had the courage to serve in vietnam? what is it you were doing at the time?Originally Posted by Mr Earl

I am not sure if Bush represents an aberration from core Republican values, or if he represents what the party has evolved into, a mix of nativists, religious zealots, authoritarians, and corporatist.Originally Posted by chinthee

ron paul was the best choice for prez. now its just another lesser of 3 evil race
