yes.
they are completely different things.
I have just interviewed a chap who has an old conviction for possession of a tiny amount of cannabis. (he was open enough about this, I also know the guy from a few years back when he was last here hardly the criminal type)
He worked as a teacher in the uk for 6 months before the CRB check came through.
The school weren't overly bothered owing to the age and lack of seriousness of the offenc.
Not so sure how the Thai authorities would react so I told him to get a subject access report instead.
