Saw an excellent debate on CNN last night (the anchor and guests were clearly excited by such a juicy topic) in which people from both sides of the fence were agreeing he had to go, and then this gay guy phones in and asks what difference does it make and why is this illegal?

The consensus was: regardless of obviously being a hypocrite in terms of consistently voting against anything remotely pro-gay, he
pleaded guilty. The Senator is claiming he did it so as to expedite the whole embarrassing process, forgetting that convicted criminals (even be it a misdemeanor) are
not allowed to serve as Congressmen
