Rose colored glasses. the practicalities do not match the ideals.

You would be quite welcome but I hardly think you'll be able to face the "facts."

Absolutely, he is gong to little but divide the party and focus attention off the more important issues, hell he's young he can have another shot. This ain't his time. He is unelectable. His atempt will not help the country.
IMO he is just as irresponsible as GWB. Our country is in trouble maybe being unable to elect a black muslim indicates another sort of trouble that needs addressing I won't argue that point (the point you seem to be harping on). This is not the venue, nor time.

Maybe he would be good for the country who knows? I just know he will only create more problems. Personally I've got nothing against any man, capable and responsible, in office regardless of color, religion or political affiliation. He won't get in. and his history & religion will only cloud the true issues at hand. That he doesn't recognize these things or seem to care. tells me he is not presidential material.

That anyone would think this is a great time to forward racial equality in teh Oval Office at the cost of an election is unfathomable. You seem to support ending the war, think it was a mistake, you seem to think the direction OUR country is taking is wrong, that things should not be allowed to continue as they are but yet you continue to advocate unpalatable, over the top measures and unelectable official achieving absolutely NOTHING!

Idealists are good people to have around, they keep us looking up, but it is the pragmatist that will get the job done. There are not enough people willing to look beyond color & religion at this point in time, There are those willing to pay more attention to sensationalist reports on the man's history, color and religion to defeat him. He ain't got a snowballs chance in hell of being elected.

If you truly care what happens over the next decade or two, isn't it time to put down the rose colored glasses, put a bookmark in your book of ideals and try to gain one little step back to reality? A radical swing would be nice, I'll admit, but as stroll said:
