    Barak Hussein Obama

    Subject: Barack Obama

Probable U. S. presidential candidate, Barack Hussein Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a black Muslim from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white atheist from Wichita, Kansas. Obama's parents met at the University of Hawaii.
When Obama was two years old, his parents divorced. His father returned to Kenya. His mother then married Lolo Soetoro, a radical Muslim from Indonesia. When Obama was 6 years old, the family relocated to Indonesia. Obama attended a Muslim school in Jakarta. He also spent two years in a Catholic school.
Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim. He is quick to point out that, "He was once a Muslim, but that he also attended Catholic school."

Obama's political handlers are attempting to make it appear that Obama's introduction to Islam came via his father, and that this influence was temporary at best. In reality, the senior Obama returned to Kenya soon after the divorce, and never again had any direct influence over his son's education. Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama's mother, Ann Dunham, introduced his stepson to Islam. Obama was enrolled in a Wahabi school in Jakarta. Wahabism is the radical teaching that is followed by the Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad against the western world.
Since it is politically expedient to be a Christian when seeking major public office in the United States, Barack Hussein Obama has joined the United Church of Christ in an attempt to downplay his Muslim background.
Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected presidential candidacy.

Land of the Free my bulbous arse!

It's 'Free' as long as you happen to be Anglo-Saxon and Christian. Oh, being wealthy certainly doesn't hurt either.

No way is the US ready for a black President, mixed or otherwise, let alone a Black President with a hint of that 'Muslim, Irakiii, Arrrrrab' about him.

it is precisely this sort of juvenile reasoning that got GWB into office.

many people didn't vote for al gore because he was 'too stiff'. they'd rather have a beer with GWB, and apparently that's included in the criteria for what is quite possibly the most consequential job on the planet.

not voting for a candidate for president because of his name....not his ideas for the future of the country and its people.

    good plan.

    Obama is NOT electable.

    For many reasons.

And one of the many reasons are his background, above.

    It's mostly media hype.

    He may be keynote speaker.

He will not be the V.P., either.

Another post spouting trash that has nothing to with the facts The dude is unelectable. I, for one was scared shitless when GWB threw his hat in the ring. comparing the two situations, apples and organges. Ralph Nader did more to set our country back 35 years by throwing is weak, no chance, hat in the ring 7 years ago, thus splitting the vote and putting us right where he stood so proud against going.

Injecting some new blood and moving away from a two party, good ol' boy system is a good idea but that was not the right time there was too much at stake, Really showed the man to be slef-centered and as far As I am concerned, a liar.

Will a Black Muslim, with an name like Barak Hussein Obama be backed for any parties one shot at the oval office? Understanding the political situation in the US today do you really think anyone is seriously going to put him forward?

I say again, this is smoke and mirrors with at the very most and ulterior motive behind it. The Dems would be out of their minds to put him up. Even discussing it makes for a stronger republican shot at the next go 'round. The United states will not elect a Black Muslim this year. I don't want to get into the right and wrong of it. THAT IS NOT THE ISSUE, nor is it a point I am trying to make or even discuss. It is just not the political climate conducive to this kind of radical departure from traditional Pasty-faced WASP types.

So before calling something "Juvenile thinking" brush up on your reading comprehension skills, try to understand what is being said, then take the time to ask who stands to gain what by even putting the suggestion out there? (Not that I have clue) Seriously you think he could gain a nomination? If so wouldn't that almost ensure a Republican in the Oval Office?

Fuck what you think is right. What will the American voting public do? It is juvenile at this juncture in our history to argue the point; now is the time to take every precaution to oust the current administration (I am thinking of the machine that runs this one not the faces they have in there now) and get our country back form the wolves. You don't do that trying to force-feed middle America a Black Muslim. Thinking "It shouldn't be that way" is "juvenile thinking" IMO. It is the way it is; at this time in history you need to work within those parameters.

Be interesting to see just what becomes of it. If the man truly cares about the course our country is taking, if he truly thinks a Democratic President would be best for the nation, he would step down and work behind the scenes. He is Unelectable in this capacity. Any ticket with him as VP nominee or as Pres would be defeated.

This thinking perpetuates the oligarchic 2-party system - voting for the lesser of 2 evils. And Nader has shown once again that there are more choices, futile though it was to be.

Democracy in the US - my arse!

I was one of the first Green voters in Germany in the '70s when everyone was laughing at them, and they have advanced to be in government a good decade later. This is what democracy is about.

not derail the Obama thing I just think with GWB waiting in the wings and really being the only one likely to benefit from Nader's raid on the two party system. Nader chose the wrong time. Overly simplistic, but the world situation and the shit going on in the middle east is a direct result of his attack on the two party system, wrong time in history. There is time to fight to improve the system, then there is a time to back the system up to prevent disaster.

Had Nader sat that election out the US would have not have gone into this repressive tailspin, American soldiers would not be in harms way in Iraq and the next election might have been a more opportune time to try his hand. We all knew he couldn't win, we all knew the two party system is obsolete. Just wasn't the time. People today are dying that might not have, had he sat down and waited. Sometimes the responsible action is to not take action.

Nader is not stupid, did he really expect a different outcome? perhaps this is the Juvenile thinking Ray Carey was referring to?

If BHO is successful he could achieve similar results. right or wrong that is the reality.

in case you missed it, 'middle america' hasn't vote for a democrat in a presidential election in over 25 years....and IMO they won't be needed in '08.

and finally, why is anyone on this forum discussing obama and a 'third party'? in the second year of his first senate term (and clearly a rising star) why would he even consider leaving the dems?

A black Muslim immigrant with the name "Hussein" won't win a presidency in the US.

Prejudice and racism are well alive, many won't even vote for Clinton, because she's a "commie" - absolutely hilarious how anyone could fall for this imbecile, uninformed nonsense, but sadly true.

You would be quite welcome but I hardly think you'll be able to face the "facts."

Absolutely, he is gong to little but divide the party and focus attention off the more important issues, hell he's young he can have another shot. This ain't his time. He is unelectable. His atempt will not help the country.
IMO he is just as irresponsible as GWB. Our country is in trouble maybe being unable to elect a black muslim indicates another sort of trouble that needs addressing I won't argue that point (the point you seem to be harping on). This is not the venue, nor time.

Maybe he would be good for the country who knows? I just know he will only create more problems. Personally I've got nothing against any man, capable and responsible, in office regardless of color, religion or political affiliation. He won't get in. and his history & religion will only cloud the true issues at hand. That he doesn't recognize these things or seem to care. tells me he is not presidential material.

That anyone would think this is a great time to forward racial equality in teh Oval Office at the cost of an election is unfathomable. You seem to support ending the war, think it was a mistake, you seem to think the direction OUR country is taking is wrong, that things should not be allowed to continue as they are but yet you continue to advocate unpalatable, over the top measures and unelectable official achieving absolutely NOTHING!

Idealists are good people to have around, they keep us looking up, but it is the pragmatist that will get the job done. There are not enough people willing to look beyond color & religion at this point in time, There are those willing to pay more attention to sensationalist reports on the man's history, color and religion to defeat him. He ain't got a snowballs chance in hell of being elected.

If you truly care what happens over the next decade or two, isn't it time to put down the rose colored glasses, put a bookmark in your book of ideals and try to gain one little step back to reality? A radical swing would be nice, I'll admit, but as stroll said:

Judging from your past posts, your intend is to smear "Hildebeast's" reputation, as well as that of an American ex-president.
Your primary 'debating' tools are making false or unsubstantiated claims and linking to highly biased commentary.
Note that unlike your "Bearpit", we aim at a more serious quality forum here.

    Many are. But not enough.

Frisco Frankie has made brilliant posts in this thread.

The Dems should dump Barak Obama. The sooner the better.

Many voters throughout the purple (tightly contested) states will not for for Barak Obama.

brilliant? seems like thinly veiled racism to me.

he's saying that obama should quit the race (regardless of his ideas and character) because of his color, religion, and middle name (!!)....and even though ff is falling all over himself to assure us that he personally doesn't share these sentiments, IMO what he's advocating is despicable. i have no doubt that there were plenty of 'enlightened' whites in the south during the 50s and 60s that said the same things about civil rights. "now's not the right time" they most certainly said.

btw, i don't think obama will get the nomination because he is relatively inexperienced. however, if gore, edwards, or clinton pick him for VP, it won't hurt the ticket IMO.

MM do you think that ANY republican has a legitimate chance of winning in '08? there's still two more years of body bags and scandal investigations to get through. it's going to be bloody...both figuratively and literally.

mccain is actually trying to put more troops in iraq (too little and waaay too late)....and the religious nuts that have a strangle hold on the republican party won't support him. ditto for guiliani (sp). romney or brownback? please. rockefeller republicans have had enough of these bible thumpers.

in fact, it could easily be argued that the republican party is so ideologically fractured and in such disarray that is will splinter into two separate parties by 2012.

the only chance the republicans have of winning the white house in '08 is if there is a major gaffe by the dem in sept or oct.
