Discuss what? It's kinda sad when we can't discuss a hypotehical nothing.

Well the key to that hypothesis is not hypothetical is it and if you're a Thailand resident or planning to visit Thailand in the future, it's a subject best avoided.

There's a range near Koh Kong and I was offered a blast at it when I was there, but I declined. I was having a few beers with these Cambo guys and they were telling me about a Swede that went up there, $50 for the cow and $100 a pop for the RPG, it took him 7 shots to hit the cow..!
No, shouldn't laugh... but we did.I mean..

Hitting it with the first shot might have been slighly more humane..![]()
you are delusional, aren't you ? or you have no idea how politics work. Cambodia is a shithole, very corrupted and brutal to its people, and the PM is a known war criminal (former Khmer Rouge) with no intention to improve the country or held free election. I fail to see how our "great populist" and "great democrat" is fitting in all that ? it's a mind game, just to piss off the current government. He is going to get himself killed. Or better yet, if he takes his new job seriously, that Cambodia POS PM will have him done.Originally Posted by ItsRobsLife

Maybe he'll be offered a position there too....they're fricking nuts an all...Hun Sen....errrr Khymer rouges second in command wasn't he??? Rolled into Phnom Penh in Tanks and took control...him and Thaksin will get along just fine one thinks....that is until Huneyboy gets bored and makes him part of the killing fields...enjoy Presidento Toxic spill...Originally Posted by dirtydog

I have a feeling Hun Sen might be interested in the whole Thaksin package. Goodies for the poor, for perpetual re-election. Mega projects to stuff Billions into one's own pockets.
Simple, yet very effective way to run a 3rd world country. And get insanely rich doing it.

These are not western values, they are human rights, and they are universal. Big difference.
"Ah, well, we have to take the good with the bad" that's what many of my fellow countrymen said about one of the most infamous sons of our Nation. And that's always a mistake. Those who commit crimes against humanity need to be brought to justice. It doesn't really matter if they saved a kitten, provided health care for the poor, or built autobahns.
FYI, it's the royalist FUNCINPEC party that supported the Khmer rouges,or was supported by them depends the way you look at it, until Hun Sen got sick of this farce that was dragging Cambodia down and kicked Ranaridh out of the country.
Some Thai elements may have recently supported Cambodian opposition, which may explain why Hun Sen is so pissed off lately.
Also a lot of small businessmen not connected to the Bangkok elite are heavily invested in Cambodia (same in Burma ), we may look for some explanation there too
The things we regret most is the things we didn't do
more like 250 USD per shot actually, need to book 24h in advance, it's a long ride in the mountainOriginally Posted by ItsRobsLife

No Butterfly it was $100. Maybe they wanted to charge you $250 because you are French, but it was definately $100.

well that's how much they quoted me at the firing range, I think someone did a review here and it was quoted as 250 USD also. Maybe they were going to rob you and had no intention to take you to the mountain, hence the cheap price as the honey potOriginally Posted by ItsRobsLife
will see, can't wait to rub your nose in it when Thaksin will be exposed againOriginally Posted by ItsRobsLife

had to know it was coming![]()
No one knows how this is going to play out. I've not heard much from Thai's I know yet. A muted, maybe incredulous response so far...
Anyway, life's never dull here that's for sure!
Nationalism usually comes first.
It's why it is so easy to manipulate a countries population. It's a technique used and abused by politicians globally.

poll recently released reports public support for the Gov has doubled from high 20's to high 60's ..................
^ Funny, now they acknowledge that dear Abhi approval rating was only around 20%?
Weird ! I always thought he had the support of a large majority of Thai voters. Did they lie to us ?
Cambodia to revoke Thaksin's economic adviser position : PM
Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva hinted on Monday that Cambodia will revoke fugitive ex-Thai PM Thaksin Shinawatra from the position of economic adviser.
Abhisit said he is waiting for Cambodia to announce this, possibly within today.
Meanwhile AFP reported from Phnom Penh that Thaksin resigned from the position appointed in October last year.
The appointment has worsened the bilateral ties and been followed by recalling their ambassadors.
