Gee, it was supposed to get better! After musty's reports on the WHITE only protest, let's take a look at how the overall country is faring.


Akron police say they aren’t ready to call it a hate crime or a gang initiation.
But to Marty Marshall, his wife and two kids, it seems pretty clear.
It came after a family night of celebrating America and freedom with a fireworks show at Firestone Stadium. Marshall, his family and two friends were gathered outside a friend’s home in South Akron.
Out of nowhere, the six were attacked by dozens of teenage boys, who shouted ”This is our world” and ”This is a black world” as they confronted Marshall and his family.
The Marshalls, who are white, say the crowd of teens who attacked them and two friends June 27 on Girard Street numbered close to 50. The teens were all black.

There is absolutely no evidence of this- although I have been wondering if the venomous tone of the overwhelmingly white teabag protests might provoke a black & Latino backlash. But not the case, so far- even the likes of Farrakhan and Sharpton seem to have been pretty quiet.

Obama has however unleashed an uppity white surge. I think Maureen Dowd may have got it close-

Choose your demographic- the south, heartland America, aging white America and the religious Right could all be included, to some extent. And of course, then there are the legions of unscrupled manipulators. There have certainly been senior black officials in previous administrations, but Potus is the ultimate figurehead- yes, it is partly a 'black thang'. But these same people are also suspicious of Federal government- and with HC reform, the stimulus package and carbon trading, Obama certainly represents that too.

Add to that the financial crisis, and there is a lot of fear in white middle America right now. And exactly how is Billy Bob meant to understand what plunged us into the financial crisis in the first place, and the actions that were taken and are being taken to get the country out of it? I mean, who truly does? All he understands is the pain being felt on the streets, increasing government debt and the potential for higher Fedral taxes.

I think it was ill advised of Obama to mouth off on the Gates thang when he did, but the subsequent staged uproar smelled of old whitey playing the race card to me.

Let's face it, Obama is president because all the black people voted for him and finally they had something to vote for, a black man.

Man never said any about that Sabang, he said the reason Obama carried the vote is because ALL BLACKS, which I think only 96% voted, but their majority did carry it to Obama,, if only some had voted for McCain he might have won.
You seem to forget, there is a lot of niggers in the US, and even those from other countrys that could not vote were praying for him,, WWN were for him, as well as NAACP.

Many whites voted for him, too. Most got past the race issue. He's a guy. That's what I see, but he's a guy with the wrong agenda. Is that racist?

The race card is being played by the lefties, Ant. And thanks for bringing up the fact that blacks are a minority. Mebbe that explains why they weren't many at the 9/12 rally, besides the fact that nobody would give them a free return ticket for the event.

Jet me gal, you no unnerstand. Racism is a phenomenon applicable to the White races only, it's some mutated gene or something, I'm told. It's impossible for other races to be racist, as they don't have this mutated gene. This is why you'll find the self flagellation about racism only amongst the Whites, by those that feel the shame and pain of carrying the gene. They have the urge for the white races to commit suicide en masse in order to cleanse their souls.

You know whats strange. I wouldnt call myself racist as my wife is Thai, I have a lot of Vietnamise, Mexican, Peurto Rican friends etc. but I still dont like black people in general must still be racist then oh well.....

So then you actually have no point at all. Or are you saying that it's racist for blacks to vote for a black candidate? I'm sure plenty of whites voted for McCain, what of that?

The simple fact is that blacks aren't in enough of a majority to carry an election - as Sabang's already pointed out the only demographic where Obama didn't have a majority were the elderly.

IMO, much of the over the top hatred of obama is in large part based on race.

many (including the OP) can not come to terms with a black US president, and they have been falling all over themselves in an attempt to de-legitimize his presidency.

the whole 'birther' nonsense speaks to this.

i don't know if 'uppity' carries the same meaning in regards to race outside of north america, but it's use here tells us all we need to know about jet.

No reason to vote if you believe it won't make a difference to your life, that's why people especially young people don't vote in Britian, they feel disenfranchised.
Now black people have a real interest in politics, even if most don,t understand it.
