I don't think there would be any problem, mine has already stated that she misses yours.....I assume she meant wife.

The kids would find it fun I know.

Rather stay overnight though if it's all the same to you. Is that the southern site as opposed to your Northern abode?.....it's only about 2 hours from BKK isn't it?

Thanks for all the pics, great thread. Looking forward to further developments. As a Bangkok bound, condo dwelling, nature loving but surrounded by concrete and pollution farang, I'd love to do what you are doing.

Maybe one day. I guess I need to marry first.

Could do farm first, yes southern, then northern and stay there, or stay in resort nearby farm, either

Great thread mate and your pictures are absolutely fantastic.

My missus was going through your flower pictures, having a green thumb and all and she asked whereabouts they were taken.

We might drop in one day, and say hi and have a look around if that is OK.

Thanks mate and we surely will come up but will forewarn you before I arrive with the tribe.

Is there a hotel within an acceptable driving distance and don't tell me Bangkok?

I think there are a few guesthouses, resorts nearby.....but have not gone to look at the condition of any.

Although down the other direction towards the southern entrance of the park there are several, closer to Nakhon Nayok way...

    Bloody luverly loof!!!

How are individual 'tiles' prepared? Split the central rib of the frond, or fold over the leaves?

Couple more pics of the finished loof....still have to trim some edges, although wondering if to leave it with the shaggy look, or trim it totally.

These are after it rained the night before, so looks like a drowned rat or shaggy sheepdog.....but will settle down after some time...

Pissed down with rain during the night.......not one leak....so far.....we slept under it for the first time, in our tent.

and the loof interior finished except for treatment with Tung....

Dont understand what you mean by this ??

Each thatch piece is simply laid on top of the previous one at spacings you prefer.

Never, ever has appealed to me.

Nice job Nawty and it must be really satisfying to have some such concept in mind and then see it be created.
