Sattahip - Two suspected drunk drivers fall asleep at the wheel.

Two suspected drunk drivers fall asleep at the wheel.

In the early hours of Thursday Morning, members of the public alerted local authorities to two vehicles parked dangerously in the middle of the Sukumvit Road in Sattahip.

Both drivers appeared to have fallen asleep.

Journalists arrived and found the two vehicles which had stopped.

The driver of one of the vehicles was fast asleep and when we woke him up he claimed he was a Soldier travelling from Chayapoon Province.

The driver of the other vehicle woke up and drove off before the authorities arrived as did the driver of the lead vehicle who was clearly in a drunken state.

This story serves as a warning to all motorists who use their vehicles late at night here in Pattaya.

Always be aware and expect the unexpected.

What are the chances of this happening twice at the same time and place? Staggering, lottery type odds i would imagine.

^We hired a taxi to take us from Bangkok to Ubon and back to Bangkok in a day.
On the return leg about 40km from Don Mueang, our driver fell asleep 3 times in 30 minutes the 3rd time i had to wake him before he run in to the back of a cement mixer at 100kph.
I told the wife to get him to pull in to the next petrol station for a rest,he decided to clean his taxi instead of resting.

I too came back from Korat to Pak Chong with my wife and baby and the taxi driver kept falling asleep...In the end I threatened him to stop the car, then drag him from the car and smash his head in (said in Thai)

He soon woke up..with the window down all the way...and me sat staring at him for the remaining 35-40kms of the journey..think he was too scared to fall asleep..
while I was doing my best impression

When I was working as a taxi driver I used to love pretending to fall asleep when I had a passenger in late at night.

If they sit in the front you can close your left eye, turn side on a bit and pretend to snore while you're right eye is still open, it's hilarious.

    Cheers
