Two Britons Killed Outside Projects in Florida

When I come across these kind of snooty liberal young Brits most I want to do is give them a nice sucker punch to the face, not bust a cap in they ass, but then again I'm not black. Just joking, I figure they were looking to get some young black snake, or scoring drugs.

The two British men shot dead while on holiday in western Florida have been named.

James Cooper, 25, and James Kouzaris, 24, both graduates of the University of Sheffield, were found dead by police in Sarasota, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with both their murders. Police said that the boy was known to them and had previously been arrested.

It was unclear last night how the men had ended up outside a government-assisted housing block in Newtown, a notoriously dangerous region to the north of Saratosa, in the middle of the night.

The area, which is known as a hotspot for gangs, is responsible for much of the city's crime and 12 people were killed there in the past year.

The pair had been on holiday with one of the men's extended family, and were staying 12 miles away on the more refined island city of Longboat Key, which is home to pricey resorts and white beaches.

Police said they had received a 911 call at about 3am on Saturday. The caller, a local resident, said that a person was lying on the ground covered in blood.
Officers who were sent to investigate also found the second man on the other side of the road, also bleeding. Both were declared dead at the scene.
Police were said to have marked about 20 shell casings on the street and were continuing to collect evidence six hours after the shooting.
Residents told local television reporters that they heard what sounded like "machine-gun fire" before then hearing sirens.
Captain Paul Sutton, of the Sarasota police, said that no motive for the killings had yet been established. The suspect had no link to the two victims.
"We're trying to work out why they were in this area," he told The Daily Telegraph. "It's a residential area and not somewhere that would normally attract outsiders".
Captain Sutton said the men were not carrying weapons, drugs or an unusual amount of money.
A spokesman for the British consulate in Miami said: "British consular officials can confirm that two British nationals were killed in Sarasota, Florida, on April 16. Next of kin have been notified.
Mr Kouzaris, of Northampton, Northants, had been travelling through south America and Taiwan in recent months. It is thought Mr Cooper had worked as a tennis coach.
Last month they exchanged excited comments about their forthcoming holiday on Mr Kouzaris's Facebook page.
"Back to normality soon," Mr Kouzaris wrote. "U have got to be kiddin, ur a back a week and then we go off to america,” said Mr Cooper. “Miami, Miami!!!” replied Mr Kouzaris.

Missed turning that ended in tragedy

    Published Date: 22 April 2011
    By Angus Howarth

POLICE believe two British tourists shot dead in a suburb of Florida may have got lost while looking for a 24-hour diner and an early breakfast.

James Cooper and James Kouzaris were found with multiple bullet wounds in the Gulf Coast town of Sarasota at 3am on Saturday.

Police have been baffled as to why the friends, who attended Sheffield University together, came to be in the rundown ghetto where their bodies were found.

However, detectives now believe the men left the Gator Bar - where they were pictured partying on CCTV 94 minutes before they were discovered - and went in search of a branch of Ihop, a 24-hour diner chain, just a mile and a half away.

Captain Paul Sutton said police initially ignored the possibility they had simply walked to where they were found, as most Americans would not consider covering such a distance on foot.

However, Mr Cooper and Mr Kouzaris used to go hiking together and may have thought nothing of walking to the diner.

Capt Sutton added that it was "very possible" that the pair, who had been drinking, could have "lost their bearings", missed the correct turning and ended up in the dimly-lit streets of Newtown, a low-income housing project blighted by crime.

It was there that Mr Cooper, a 25-year-old tennis coach, and Mr Kouzaris, 24, a town planner, were found dead in a back street, having been shot several times.

Their pockets and their possessions had been rifled through and were scattered on the ground, indicating they may have died in an attempted robbery.

The victims' families insist the pair did not take drugs and police say there is no indication that drugs were a factor in the crime.

Shawn Tyson, 16, has been arrested and is being held on suspicion of murder.

It's really easy to get lost like that in Florida, I have done it myself. Got pissed at a bar in a nice upscale neighbourhood and then took off to get a feed and ten mnutes later found myself in a real bad area. The expression " the wrong side of the tracks " reall applies here, you literally cross the railway tracks and you are in a totally different area. I'm sure they just stumbled into the wrong area, if the wanted drugs there are much easier ways to get them than heading into a ghetto. Shame they got killed for whatever reason it was.

REAL DEAL OR HOAX, The cell phone number that sent me the above text messages “I murdered someone I am scared“ is from the 941 area code covering Sarasota-Bradenton-Venice Fl, a trace of the number indicate that it belongs to a young female living in North Sarasota Fl.

All the information concerning the cell phone number that sent me the bizarre text messages was turned over to the Sarasota Police Department.

REAL DEAL OR HOAX, The fact that the cell phone belongs to a young female in North Sarasota is interesting as some theories indicate that a female may have enticed Brits James Cooper and James Kouzaris into her car and driven them to an ambush in Newtown for a robbery that went bad.

Posted: April 18, 2011 by pibillwarner…. Were Murdered Brits James Kouzaris and James Cooper Set Up By Someone They Met In The Sarasota Bars Who Directed Them To The “Public Housing Development” At Gore Street and Carver Court.

If this robbery theory is correct then there are at least 3 people involved in the robbery/murder of James Cooper and James Kouzaris, the driver, the shooter Shawn Tyson and the “brains” behind the robbery as 16 year old Shwan Tyson could barely read and write.

^ This from a private investigators website. If correct, it was a probably 'honeytrap' mugging gone wrong- certainly, the fact the bodies were 50ft apart on opposite sides of the streets indicates an attempt to flee. The shooter, Shawn Tyson, is a crack baby & local gangbanger- basically a general waste of life.

I feel sorry for the two young men and their families.
For you heartless bastards who posted such juvenile crap with your bold and worldly-wise assumptions, go "take the piss" in Sarasota at the point of a gun.

    RIP boys

This is bad. That could have been me but I can spot a honey trap from 10 miles away. Low life scum of a female does shit like this.

This is the same reason why allot of celebrities screw around with prostitutes. Because allot of women are schemers and cannot be trusted.

Puts some perspective into all the Pattaya bashing that goes on.

If guns were outlawed in the USA, the immediate result would be obvious; the honest law abiding citizens would turn in their guns, and scum like these killers would keep theirs, thereby making the problem much worse.
The worst part is that housing projects do not just happen, they are built using taxpayers money, and they are all the same; havens for criminals.

Yes, it really is easy to do that in some places in Florida. I've done it, too. Two blocks in the wrong direction off the main road and suddenly it's Jungleland. Poor guys.

The cops can't be everywhere. The sad reality is that in some places in the US you are better off carrying if you don't want to be carjacked.

You can build all the housing projects you want, if there aren't jobs people aren't going to lift themselves out of poverty. Plus if you arrest, incarcerate, and effectively destroy the future of 3/4 of the male population don't expect an improvement in the culture. Kids grow up learning to respect the successful people around them, and in the hood those guys are mostly the dealers and the pimps. What do you do with a 16-year-old capable of something like this? Might as well take him out and shoot him. Probably another gladiator school graduate, not fit for civil society. In a way he's a casualty, too.

That's easy. The really question is how to get away from it (as a society). It isn't as simple as "ban all guns" (some liberals) or "throw everyone in jail" (some conservatives).

So they walked? Worried about a DUI? Or looking for something else? Odd story.

    Well since you asked Mid.

My view is: We live on a planet that prides itself on the creed that some of us, are able to spend more on a week's holiday than most can earn in a year. It's the American, and most everyone else's, dream that some will become incredably rich while most others, who strive for the same goal, will fail and by fate live in a world most of us do not want to comprehend.

The world has, and will continue to, repeat history as long as the poor and oppressed refuse to accept the status-quo and rebel in what ever way they can. In America the hoods have become mini tribal states. London Manchester Dublin Paris have the same. Us decent white middle class sorts need to be taught and learn from an early age, that many resent and envy our privileged lives and apparent wealth. That our collective support and acceptance of the way the world works makes us targets and objects of hate on every continent and ocean on this planet by an ever increasing numbers of the earth's population.

It might be helpful if the, er, decent (and rapidly shrinking) middle class in the US would stop kicking at the people on the lower rungs and figure out who their real enemy is. Oh, wait, sorry, I forgot we don't have a class system in the US of A. It's the land of opportunity!

RIP to the two young men a sad needless death.

    ^^^^

    I'll do it -

Question 1 - By abandoning large parts of the population to poor education crime and poverty in the name of US style freedom and free enterprise, translated it means you are free to make as much money you can by any means, exploitation of cheap labor and financial billion dollar scams, likewise you are free to rot in hell no one is going to give you a hand.

Question 2 - Free quality education on all levels, affordable social security and health insurance systems, introducing into the US mindset that everybody matters and is our shared responsibility, as opposed to the present "only I matter system". and more evenly sharing of the wealth cutting seriously back on the ludicrous profit margins and executive pay packets.

    Thats concludes my proposed answers

It is. Read my reply to Sailing. Or re-read Larv's post. Read Luc Sante's "Low Life." Nothing new or mysterious about it. Is it necessary to state the obvious?
