Rooney caught up in 'Juicy Jeni' prostitute claims

English footballer Wayne Rooney reportedly enjoyed a series of sexual liaisons with a 21-year-old prostitute nicknamed "Juicy Jeni" while his wife was pregnant with their first child.

The 24-year-old Manchester United striker reportedly delivered the tawdry news to high school sweetheart Coleen via text message as she sat in a hairdresser's salon on Saturday.

He was forced to confess before two Sunday newspapers, including the News of the World, ran the revelations the next day, Britain's Daily Mail reported.

"Wayne chased me with sex texts and paid in wads of cash," the prostitute, Jenny Thompson, told the News of the World.

"He didn't seem to care he was betraying Coleen."

The pair's tryst began when they met at a Manchester casino in June last year - two months after the footballer and his wife announced they were expecting their first child.

Thompson told the newspaper she first bedded Rooney with another girl at the five-star Lowry hotel.

"We both wore identical black lacy bra-and-brief sets specially bought from La Senza," she said.

"Wayne told us he'd never had a threesome before.

"He was shy and awkward - and me and my friend were left to do all the work."
Rooney saw Thompson on a further six occasions.

He arranged their meetings on prepaid mobile phones and paid more than $1600 in cash or casino chips for her services.

The footballer even reportedly invited Thompson back to the family's $7.6 million mansion in Cheshire but she refused.

The Rooneys' son, Kai, was born in November.

It is the second time the star footballer has reportedly been caught seeing a prostitute.

He confessed six years ago to frequenting a massage parlour in Liverpool, where he saw a 48-year-old grandmother nicknamed Auld Slapper.

Rooney's wife has left the couple's home and is staying with her parents, the Daily Mail reported.

"Coleen and Wayne were supposed to attend a family christening this weekend but they didn't show up," an unnamed friend told the newspaper.

"Coleen had been getting her hair done on Saturday when Wayne texted her to break the news.

"He's a coward for hiding behind a text message, especially when they'd been together earlier that day."

The news has put England team officials on high alert.

Manager Fabio Capello will monitor Rooney's state of mind closely up until kick-off on Tuesday night, when England play Switzerland, to ensure the striker is in the right psychological condition to play, London's Daily Telegraph reported.

Rooney remained with the England camp on Sunday and is expected to fly with the rest of the squad to Basle on Monday morning.

However there were acknowledgements that, if Rooney felt he had to pull out of the match and return home, he would be allowed to do so.

Rooney trained on Sunday morning after stories about him appeared in the press.
This prompted suggestions he might withdraw from the squad, which were quickly denied by the FA, although it's understood the situation is under constant review. The England management have also spoken to Rooney.

The fact the claims have been made while Rooney is on international duty and away from home have made matters more complicated for the player, who will be granted compassionate leave if he asks for it and Capello decides he is not fit to play.

It amazes me how some here think that being able to kick a soccer ball equats with natural intellect and rational sensible thinking.

Most of these football players are found on the streets and council parks of the poorest areas of Britain and having loads of money thrust upon them does not mean they automatically develop intelligence.

I think that most players in the English National football side are uneducated, selfish, egotistical morons and that in itself is the main problem with the team overall.

The old adage is that rugby is a thug's game played by gentlemen, and the obverse being true about football (soccer).
