Iran says it will concede to the wests demands to have its uranium enriched overseas for nuclear power production.
The west says, -- well thats all we were asking for, but now that you have conceded to our demands we dont want it anymore.
Iran says, -- well fuck you then. If you dont want to make a deal we will go on enriching uranium to weapons grade.
It seems the US and indeed the EU are on a collision course aimed at war with Iran. And of course the Israelis are itching to get into it as well.
But the Chinese and the Russians are the voice of moderation here in the UN urging a peaceful solution through diplomacy and negotiation.
There's a lot of oil in Iran. The third biggest proven reserves in the world after Saudi Arabia and Iraq. The west is going down the same road of isolating Iran with sanctions in order to get a more compliant government as it did with Iraq.
Same, same as with Iraq with the Chinese and Russians trying to slip in there and make deals with the counties government under the radar of the western powers.
It seems the west is hell bent on war with Iran in order to affect regime change and get a government more compliant with the needs of the western allied powers.
Ironically, in historical terms, war has always been good for the US economy in troubled times. With two on the go at the moment, maybe a third in Iran is just what is needed to get things going again. The Saudi oil fields will be depleted of their easy to extract, good quality and CHEAP oil in another decade or two. By that time it is hoped Iraq will have settled down and be pumping out the good stuff in bulk at a reasonable price. An Iranian government compliant to western needs would be a an added back up supply.
Boxing Iran in with ever increasing sanctions, particularly those that limit the worlds oil supply such as the "oil for food" sanctions previously imposed on Iraq, only hurt western economies by way of higher oil prices. So naturally, when the sanctions become so tight as to hurt those imposing them, the only economic option is to invade and impose regime change to a more compliant form of government.
Iran is not a threat to the world or even Israel. Israel has enough nuclear bombs (thanks to its western allies) and the means to deliver them to level Iran 100 times over. But Iran does have lots of cheap good quality oil and a government that is not compliant to the needs of the western military powers. Much the same as Saddam Hussiens Iraq when it fell out of favour with USA and became isolated by sanctions.
The war drums are beating. Iran is going to be the next prize to be captured by the colonial western powers. The rhetoric of WMDs is already in the air. It worked before so it will work again.
