Didn't even know she was on one, Richard Branson is now taking over, not a bad cause, but not sure what it could accomplish

it does seem like spoiled Hollywood stars looking for a new kind of entertainment. Worthy or plain silly ?

Mia Farrow has ended her hunger strike to show solidarity with the people of the war-hit Darfur region of Sudan, because of "health concerns". In a statement posted on her website the 64-year-old said: "I have been instructed by my doctor to stop my fast immediately due to health concerns."
The actress fasted for 12 days over the Sudanese government's decision to expel foreign aid agencies.

Probably a good cause but isn't a hunger strike commenced to force someone's hand and when the participant is on the brink of death?

There must be other ways to bring attention to the Darfur tragedy rather then risk one's life.

Having said that I am not aware of one instance of a hunger strile that actually achieved it's goal. Didn't work for Bobby Sands.

Can someone educate me..............................BOb maybe?

I am now going to have to break my fast too as my wife just called me to dinner and said I will have to eat smoked salmon, rice and mixed veggies.
So as I am required to do as she says [she controls the pussy ya know] I will have to turn the responsibility to keep this fast going to someone else, whiteshiva mayhaps.......
