French 'gunman' gives himself up
A French man who is believed to have opened fire on three people, killing two, has surrendered, police say.
After the shootings, the 65-year-old initially holed himself up in a house in the town of Douchy-les-Mines, before giving himself up, witnesses said.
He had earlier opened fire on three people walking down the street, apparently at random, officials said.
The suspect surrendered to police who had surrounded the building at around 1910 local time (1710 GMT).
Police had been negotiating with the gunman, who at one stage threatened to kill himself, reports from the northern town say.
The condition of the third reported victim remained unclear.
