Reports of explosions at Brussels Central Station - Belgian troops 'neutralise' man

Belgian troops patrolling Brussels Central Station have "neutralised" a person after a small explosion, police said,
adding that there were no other casualties and the situation was under control.

"There was an accident at Central Station. There was an explosion around a person," a police spokesman said.
"That person was neutralised by the soldiers that were on the scene."
"At the moment, the police are in numbers at the station and everything is under control."

He could not confirm media reports that the person had been wearing an explosive vest and it was not clear whether the person shot was still alive.

The station and the adjacent historic downtown area Grand Place square, packed with tourists and locals on a hot summer evening,

were evacuated as police set up a security cordon, witnesses told Belgian media.

Well, welcome to the century of progressive liberal goodism - how long do you think before this tinderbox all kicks off and turns computer-game-gory?

Not that much different to the terrorist-afflicted 1970s. Indeed in my experience considerably safer.

I think that all depends on where you are. The threats and events were a bit different in key aspects in the 70s.
The problem now is possibly less the conflagration of low-tech nihilism, but the state response to it.
It's reaching a sort of philosophical endpoint where all the sophisticated ways of doing things are closed off, and you are just left with everything that can't be policed without shutting down free society and having a chilling effect on the way people interact with each other. The end result does not seem likely to be "cohesion", "unity", and "inclusion", just yet more FUD, and a more economically, ethnically, and socially polarised, balkanised, and ghettoised arena. In a sense, the conflict is within the host state - London is in a war of values with much of the rest of England, and seems to be on the verge of imposing Pax Londonica, which seems likely to only alienate further.

In the mean time an Islamic terror attack occurs every day.
The recent Paris attack got no attention at all from our progressive Apologists. I guess only U.K. terror counts

I agree HtG. The folks in the UK must be getting pissed off lately with all those one minute silence stoppages. So it's now limited to events in the UK.

It's apparently just me that's getting pissed off with all the minutes silences, I need to find out who ORDERS these mass one minute silences.
Men from the ministry, is there a very special department that specifically orders the public silences?
    Where can I find them?
Get them shut down due to cutbacks and austerity. Waste of time and money they are.
