Schapelle Corby's beauty treatment in Bali

SCHAPELLE Corby left the seclusion of her hospital ward for some pampering at a beauty salon yesterday.
Twelve days after being admitted to Sanglah Hospital suffering severe depression Corby looked brighter and better, and doctors said she was on the mend.
The 30-year-old spent about three hours inside the Gardenia beauty salon in the grounds of the hospital not far from the international wing where she is being treated.
It is understood Corby had a pedicure and hair straightening. The treatments cost the equivalent of less than $15.
Hospital sources say Corby has also left her room this week to go to the mini-mart next to the salon accompanied by a police guard.
It is the first time in almost four years, since her arrest on drug smuggling charges, that Corby has enjoyed the kind of pampering that a professional beauty salon can offer and the sort of treatments which she herself was trained to do.
Corby made no comment about how she was feeling as she left the salon, wearing a cap and trying to shield her face from the media.
Psychiatrists treating her say that Corby's condition is improving, but they still have no firm idea how much longer she will need to remain in hospital.
Head of the psychiatry team at Sanglah Hospital, Dr Nyoman Ratep, said she needed at least a few more days in hospital before any decision was made to transfer her back to her cell at Kerobokan Jail.
