Police: Violence, drugs and violence against a public servant


DR News has asked the North Zealand Police if they can confirm that they have received a report that a guard and an employee at the Shipyard's Food Market have been beaten up.

Sebastian Føns, who is duty chief at the North Zealand Police, cannot comment on the individual incidents, but says that they have received four reports of violence after the beer race.

In addition, the North Zealand Police have received six reports of breaches of the Order on Public Order and nine reports of violation of the Act on Euphoriant Substances.

At the same time, the situation in Elsinore has led to two reports of violence against a civil servant in office, says Sebastian Føns.

The police estimate that there were 10,000 people gathered for the Elsinore beer race.

According to Gry Brix, it was an otherwise quite innocent situation that led to both one of her employees and a guard from Victory Security being beaten down.

- There was simply a bottleneck at our entrance, and therefore our employees ask guests to go to the back and use the other entrance.

Thomas Lauridsen had to ask his guards to put on stab proof vests when they were called on duty in Elsinore yesterday.

The beer race has no official organizer, and the green area where the race ends is owned by Kronborg Castle and the state. It is therefore difficult to create a clear framework for the final part, says Elsinore Municipality to DR News.

At Gry Brix, there is no desire for the event to be cancelled completely.

- It's an old tradition, and the people of Elsinore love it. But it needs to be checked in a different way.
