In the UK, two climate activists, who are both in their eighties, have been charged with vandalism against the historic document Magna Carta. This is reported by the British public service media BBC.
At the British Library, the two attacked the glass box that encapsulates the document from the 1200s on Friday with hammer and chisel before gluing themselves to it.
The Magna Carta is the first document in which the idea that no one is above the law, not even the king, is expressed.
The two activists held up banners from the environmental group "Just Stop Oil" saying that the British authorities are breaking the law.
They have been released and will appear before a judge on June 20.
