I think the bloke had to be borderline insane.

“Carbon fibre makes noise,” Rush told David Pogue, a CBS News correspondent, last summer, during one of the Titanic expeditions. “It crackles. The first time you pressurize it, if you think about it—of those million fibres, a couple of ’em are sorta weak. They shouldn’t have made the team.” He spoke of signs of hull breakage as if it were perfectly routine. “The first time we took it to full pressure, it made a bunch of noise. The second time, it made very little noise.”

Describing the work of a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist as "bollocks" and "click bait" suggests you're more at home reading the Beano.

He may or may not be a great journalist, I really don’t know or care. And this piece most certainly did not receive Pulitzer Prize. so stop fan boying.

The primary task of a submersible is to not implode. The second is to reach the surface, even if the pilot is unconscious, with oxygen to spare. The third is for the occupants to be able to open the hatch once they surface. The fourth is for the submersible to be easy to find, through redundant tracking and communications systems, in case rescue is required. Only the fifth task is what is ordinarily thought of as the primary one: to transport people into the dark, hostile deep.

    That is unmitigated bollocks.

the primary task of an airplane is not to explode. The secondary task is to land even with fuel spare.

The primary task of a car is to not crash into other cars. The secondary task is not to run off the road. The third task is to stop when the driver presses the brakes.
Only the fifth task is what is ordinarily thought of as the primary one: to transport people around the hostile, zombie plagued roads.

I thought it was an insightful article that shows how a narcissist can make dumb decisions that end up killing people. More than a good thing it got him killed too.

If you're gonna shitfight about an article, at least read it.

I had to get my second cup of coffee to finish reading. I thought it a very interesting article.

“It’s a lemon” said it all.

This shows such an imbecilic lack of understanding as to beggar belief.

Remaining debris from the Titan submersible has been recovered - including "presumed human remains", the US Coast Guard has said.

Marine safety engineers say fresh evidence has been gathered from the seafloor of the North Atlantic Ocean, four months after the doomed vessel went missing.

The debris is now being analysed by US medical professionals as an investigation into the tragedy continues.
