The first order of business for Biden should be to investigate the right wing propaganda mill Fox News owned by Murdoch, as Australia is doing.

freedom of speech is only important when applied toward those we disagree with, otherwise it is meaningless.
You mean the news outlet that called Arizona in the election early to help paint the narrative for the Joe biden win ?
If Fox was the only option I would agree, lucky for us in the USA there are plenty of other options.
First thing every morning I open Google news in my browser, I scan the head lines of hundred of US and international publications. When I see something of interest to me, I don't read only read what that one publication had to say, but I google the subject matter to see what others have to say.
I don drink the Cool Aid being Fox or CNN .
If people only hear Murdoch's speech (a vile individual IMO) it is their fault.
The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.
Here is a news story Murdoch was unable to squelch. LOL

this was instigated by our ex prime minister via an online petition which garnered over 500,000 signatures - Kevin Rudd - the first of our leaders who did not go to new york to kiss murdochs ring
the murdoch press in australia retaliated to the initiation of the petition by running a year old story trying to tie Kevin to epstien
since then another ex prime minister has come to the fight against murdoch - though I have much less respect for turnbull - his government neutered the fibre NBN to help foxtel try to maintain relevance
Kevin was deposed as our prime minister via a coup by the mining corporations when he pushed for a mining super profits tax
Fox news is in the process of killing itself. But if you don't like Fox , you really aren't going to like what replaces it.
My guess is , Trump is going to buy America One News or Newsmax and rename it to Trump News. And then he'll secure a proper mainstream TV slot for it.
Then you'll be flipping through channels on TV, and the big fucking T will be in your face. And you'll probably wish Fox news was back
555! That really is a funny thought! America One News or Newsmax are 2 of my favourites.
I notice a publication called the Epoch Times is growing rapidly, and at least in my feed advertising itself heavily on FB & other social media. It even has an Australian edition now. Epoch is actually owned by Falun Gong, so that should get it an instant audience with our resident China bashers. It is also rabidly pro- Trump, spreads conspiracy theories (Right wing only, of course), and basically makes Fox look 'Fair and Balanced'. One to watch out for, or at least be aware of.
War is not necessary.
The only way to change government so that it is "for the people, of the people, and by the people" is to take the money out of politics and fund it publicly, as Chomsky pointed out decades ago, before you were born. Then the corporate class, the fascists and their useful idiots would have a job and a working wage, no more and no less. What's wrong with that? Or do you prefer the status quo, where 3 men own more wealth than 160 million Americans, who are drunk on the myth of the "American Dream"?
A 2011 report (pdf) by the minority of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee attacked the State Department for too friendly behavior towards China:From Fiscal Year 2008 to 2010, Congress provided some $50 million in funding to assist in Internet Freedom. As of January 2011, the State Department had obligated less than $20 million, of which little went to Internet Censorship Circumvention Technology (ICCT).A footnote confirms that the Falun Gong companies received part of that money through the BBG:
...
Some of the most sophisticated ICCT software is being developed by two U.S. companies, whose founders fled China to escape persecution for being members of Falun Gong. Their software was initially designed to allow fellow Falun Gong practitioners in China (whom Beijing authorities continue to prosecute, harass and imprison) to circumvent the Great Firewall by enabling their users to surf the Web as if they were in the U.S. or other “Internet friendly” nations via a combination of Proxy Websites and Virtual Private Networks.
However, both DIT and UltraReach soon found their products being used by democracy activists and ordinary citizens to circumvent Internet censorship in Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Egypt, Burma and Vietnam –[...] Congress has responded by appropriating some $50 million to the State Department to support Internet freedom: FY2008 $14.8 Million; FY2009 $5 Million; FY2010 $30 Million
Of the FY2009 Internet Freedom funding, the BBG received $1.5 Million. The BBG promptly used to contract with DIT to expand its Freegate software operations for some $600,000 and with UltraReach for $840,000.DIT or Dynamic Internet Technology is run by one Bill Xia. In a 2006 Businessweek portrait he confirms that he is a Falun Gong member. The DIT website lists only four customers: the Falun Gong's Epoch Times, Voice of America, Radio Free Asia and the New York and Hong Kong based propaganda group Human Rights in China (HRIC). VOA and RFA are financed by the USAGM/BBG. HRIC is financed by the U.S. National Endowment for Democracy, the Soros Open Society Institute and similar organizations.
when fox news called arizona for biden at 11:20 PM EST, the only states with polls still open were alaska and hawaii....you fucking moron.
