Puerto Plata.- Dominican authorities have arrested the tycoon John David McAfee, his wife and four companions, who are being investigated after allegedly finding several high caliber weapons on the yacht on which they were traveling.


McAfee, a crypto-millionaire Brit computer geek nationalized in the US, is actively sought by U.S. federal authorities for tax evasion and threats to “bury” the US government.


The arrest of McAfee, one of the first to design antivirus software and develop a computer virus scanner, occurred last Monday on board of the yacht “The Great Mystery” after Dominican Navy officers allegedly found an arsenal in the vessel.


The famous millionaire’s yacht is docked in the Ocean World marina where he was captured in the company of his wife Elizabeth McAfee (Janice), the American Richard Alan Gibson, the German Robert Whitfield, the Bahamian Oral Thompson and the Haitian Vasner Louis.

Dominican Republic to deport US software tycoon

Santo Domingo.- The Immigration Directorate on Thurs. said it’s doing the paperwork to hand over to US authorities the American software tycoon John David McAfee, arrested Tuesday for possession of illegal firearms aboard his yacht “The Great Mystery.”


Immigration didn’t specify at what time McAfee would leave the country.


Meanwhile the Office of the Attorney General said McAfee and his companions were handed over to Immigration in compliance with the law.


As to the weapons the authorities said they were seized by the Justice Ministry after the arrest.


A source told El Nacional that the American tycoon was at Immigration headquarters, “where the formalities were carried out to proceed with his deportation.”

He posted a Tweet last week posing on his yacht with his wife and a couple of weapons saying he had avoided arrest by the CIA.


The CIA has attempted to collect us. We are at sea now and will report more soon. I will continue to be dark for the next few days.

Bitcoin evangelist John McAfee has threatened to “bury” the US government if they keep harassing him over unpaid taxes, promising to leak a huge trove of files proving corruption throughout Washington and its allies.

“I’ve collected files on corruption in governments. For the first time, I’m naming names and specifics,” McAfee warned in a string of tweets stretching back to Sunday. Vowing to release over 31 terabytes of “incriminating data” to the press if arrested or otherwise “disappeared,” he posted the names of a “corrupt CIA agent and two Bahamian officials” along with claims they’d taken bribes and been involved with drug trafficking, apparently to show he was not bluffing.

McAfee has been the target of a murder accusation before. In March, a Florida court found him liable in a $25 million “wrongful death” suit, after the estate of his deceased neighbor in Belize accused him of hiring a hitman to torture the man to death. He was never actually charged with the murder, and he dismissed the lawsuit as “frivolous.”

Dominican Republic sends McAfee to Britain, without guns or yacht

SANTO DOMINGO (Reuters) - Tech guru John McAfee, creator of the eponymous antivirus computer software, has arrived in Britain from the Dominican Republic, where he was detained with his wife for entering the Caribbean nation with firearms on his yacht, his lawyer said on Friday.


The attorney general's office "asked him where he wanted to go, and he decided on London," said lawyer Candido Simon, who McAfee hired to represent him in the Dominican Republic.


McAfee, born in 1945 at a U.S. military base on British territory, has both nationalities. After Dominican authorities ensured the United States had no active legal cases or extradition requests for McAfee, they allowed him to choose where he would be sent, Simon said.


McAfee, who is seeking the Libertarian Party's nomination for U.S. president in 2020, recently told Reuters in an interview he could help Cuba defeat the U.S. trade embargo by launching a cryptocurrency.


On Friday, he asked his Twitter followers whether he should also campaign to be British prime minister.

The Dominican Republic's Public Ministry said it had seized the weaponry onboard McAfee's yacht when it docked on the country's northern coast and McAfee, his wife Janice, and four associates were detained..


The customs authority said it found pistols, a shotgun and bars of suspected silver on the yacht, the Great Mystery.

Authorities said on Thursday the couple had been in custody in the Dominican Republic for four days. His campaign manager said on Wednesday McAfee would leave his yacht behind him for now.


The couple left the Dominican Republic for London Thursday night with a stopover in Madrid and are now in British territory, Simon said.

So which one is it?

Just did a search to see if there were any grand jury indictments for McAfee in any news reports from Tennessee. There were none. The news stories state McAfee says the feds are after him. He must be into the bath salts again.
