Serial bridegroom Ron Sheppard vowed never again when marriage number eight broke down.
But the 67-year-old romeo is now planning his ninth trip up the aisle after proposing to a Filipino woman 40 years his junior.
Britain’s most married man, who first got hitched in 1966, claims he has finally found lasting love with call [at]centre worker Cristal Marquez.
He told the Sunday People: “I’ve had eight wives but I’ve never felt love like this before. This time it’s for keeps. The age gap is not an issue.
“Age is just a number when two hearts like ours have come together. We’re so perfectly matched."
Ron is getting a quickie divorce so he can tie the knot with a Filipino call worker Cristal Marquez, 27.
He also plans to adopt her seven-year-old son Miguel when she and the boy move to the UK in May.
Smitten Ron said: “When my last marriage broke down I did say that I’d never marry again but I’ve realised I hate being alone.
"I’m a caring guy with lots of love to give. Cristal is a [at]beautiful girl but it’s not just about looks.
"She cares for me deeply and promised this is for life.
“We’ve had a kiss and a cuddle but she wants to wait until we’re married to have sex. I don’t mind holding off as I want it to be special.
“I really fell in love with her son, too. He calls me Daddy Ron.”
Family: Cristal with her son
Incredibly, Ron’s [at]current wife Weng, 37, still lives with him in Somerton, Somerset, and does his cooking and cleaning although they sleep in [at]separate rooms.
Student nurse Weng demanded a divorce when Ron confessed to sharing a bed with a 27-year-old masseuse during a visit to the Philippines last year.
Meanwhile he had already been chatting to Cristal online for a year.
The pair had met as friends when Ron was married to seventh wife Wan but had lost contact until Cristal sent the retired holiday entertainer a friend request on Facebook in 2014.
Ron said: “Cristal was only 16 when we first met and I just thought of her as a young girl.
“But when this beautiful woman popped up on my screen, I just thought, ‘Wow’. I had to compliment her on how gorgeous she’d become.
“I did feel guilty as I was still married to Weng, but Weng seemed more [at]interested in her studies than me and I need a lot of care and attention.
“I confided in Cristal about my [at]marriage troubles and she was a great listener. When I told her Weng wanted a divorce, we agreed I’d spend Christmas in the Philippines with her.”

Ron, who has written a book called Lord of the Wedding Rings, claims he is not addicted to falling in love – it’s just that he had simply not met the right woman until now.
“My parents were married for 61 years,” he said. “I’m a Christian so I really believe in marriage. This time I know it will work out for me.”
Ron married his first wife Margaret in 1966. They had three daughters but split three years later following disagreements over money.
Second wife Jeanette followed in 1973 but they split [at]after a year. Ron claims they only wed in a bid to get a bigger council house.
In 1976, he met third wife Lesley and they tied the knot soon afterwards. They went on to have two sons, but they split after a string of rows.
It wasn’t long [at]before he met Kathy his fourth wife. They married in 1982 and had a daughter but divorced in 1986 after Ron claims he realised he’d got [at]together with her while on the rebound from Lesley.
Despite this, he started a relationship with fifth wife Sue almost immediately. They had two sons, but their five-year marriage broke down after Ron was offered a job at a holiday camp in Bournemouth and she didn’t want to go with him.
It was almost six years before he met his next wife Usha on a solo holiday in her native Singapore.
Their marriage ended when he cheated with seventh wife Wan while on holiday in Thailand.

They wed as soon as Ron’s divorce from Usha came through but Wan became homesick for Bangkok and moved back after just eight months.
The following year Ron met Filipino Weng and when they celebrated their 10th anniversary in 2014 he swore he had made his last trip down the aisle.
“ Weng was always suspicious of who I was chatting to online ,” he said.
“I’ll admit that Cristal wasn’t the only woman I was speaking to but my Parkinson’s medication made me confused.
“We had a lot of heated arguments and when she accused me of cheating with a masseuse called Iza it was the last straw.
"Iza and I had slept in the same bed but I’d just let her massage my legs after a long flight. We didn’t sleep together.
“I was shocked when she said that she loved me because I didn’t have any feelings for her. By then, I was already falling for Cristal and when Weng asked for a divorce, Cristal suggested I spend Christmas with her.
"Of course, I booked a flight straight away.”

The pair were tearfully reunited at Clark International Airport in December.
“It was a lovely moment,” Ron said. “Her son Miguel came running into my arms, even though we’d never met before.
“Then Cristal gave me a massive hug and a kiss.
“In that [at]moment, I knew I was going to marry her . We held hands the whole way back to hers in the taxi. I was on cloud nine.
"Of course, I wanted to have sex with her because she’s a stunning woman but I was happy to respect the fact that she wanted to wait a bit longer.
“It was only a matter of days before I’d gone out and bought an engagement ring. I wasn’t bothered about proposing to someone I hadn’t yet slept with.
“We have such an amazing [at]connection. I don’t need to have sex with her to know she’s The One.”
Ron proposed during a New Year’s Eve party in a karaoke bar near Cristal’s hometown of Lubao in the north of the Philippines.
“I was determined to get down on one knee, despite all of my mobility problems,” he said.
“Cristal said yes straight away and everyone in the club started cheering. We were both in tears.”
Ron broke the news of his engagement to Weng when he arrived home.
“We had a very heated argument,” he admitted. “She swore at me and called me a liar and a cheat. Things have been very strained [at]between us since then.
“Some people have suggested that Cristal is only with me because she wants to make a life in the UK but that’s [at]absolute nonsense.
"She’s not after my money, either, because she’s never asked me for a penny. She’s actually making a huge sacrifice, leaving her family and friends to be with me in England.”

Weng told the Sunday People: “I’m annoyed. He’s unhappy I’m not leaving my nursing career to care for him but it’s very selfish of him to demand this as I have family to provide for.”
But Cristal said: “This is the happiest I’ve ever been. The age difference is not a problem. I’m actually attracted to older men.
“Ron has always been honest with me about his past marriages. I don’t think I have anything to worry about.”
