The continuing crisis at the BBC ( sparked off by Savile )

The crisis goes on at the BBC in the UK , all stemming from accusations surrounding the late J Savile .

IMO the BBC should now be pay per view , like most other channels have gone , us as UK tax payers have to fund this bloody charade @ £ 12 or so per month ,, even if we don't watch it ( and we rarely do )

Apart from paying that pervert savilles wages in the past we now have to fork out half a million quid in our tax money to wave goodbye to some one who has been in the job at the top for a matter of weeks ( nice work if you can get it )

The whole thing has become a bloody farce ,, one big bloody gravy train , if you can climb on board.

Why the hell they need so many bloody presenters to be on a show like Radio 4 is beyond me ,, you have 2 or 3 of them everyday to read the news another to read the weather another to read a bit about sport another as a political newsreader probably one in there to wipe their brows ,,, what a poxy fiasco !

If Chris Patten has given the DG a double-bubble payout to go quietly, then i'm afraid his Lordship is toast too. I like Patten a lot (having been in Hong Kong since before 1997)- but he seems Blimpish nowadays.

    Really?

I mean it's PPV anyway really and the quality of the output for the 4 or 5 channels they produce is generally far higher than anything else on TV. Also your right to complain and celebrate when people get the heave ho is governed by the fact that it's publicly owned.

As for having to pay off a key employee, do you think Sky would have to pay the same, more or less than the BBC would? A private corporation could get away with far more.

Man gets job in charge of mutli national corporation, walks into paedophile storm, quits. Should he get nothing when the company he worked for is in the wrong??

Proper little Englander you at times Nige. Owt for a whinge.

Wrong MFMT Tax as in ( don't be fooled my friend ) licence fee is TAX so therefore you as a licence payer are a tax payer .

    AS IN

    Community Charge = TAX

    Dartford Crossing = TAX

Landfill Charge on your skip = TAX

    Death Duty = TAX

    TV Licence = TAX

Call it what you want it is all TAX which is leeched and bled out of the working man in the UK the TAX shithole of the world .

And YES Asta its a bloody shame a few more of us don't kick up , why the hell not ?? why should I pay £12 a month for something I do not subscribe to ??

If this government is so in favour of giving people choices then lets have TV's manufactured + doctored in a way so they can never receive any BBC material , then give the folk the choice to buy them and be £ 144 a year better off
