Budapest?
Thinking of goulash.
Warsaw.
They're perogies. More native to Ukraine, known as varenyky.
I doubt you're in Lviv, so I'll guess Krakow.
Krakow?
the mixmatched spires?
great city
Anyway, the city was Krakow, close to Auschwitz. It wasn't all beer and sausages.
This was the plaque in the photo from the Jewish Quarter.
Some other images here:
Auschwitz itself, which is 90 minutes to 2 hours away from Krakow depending on how you get there:
Pictures aren't allowed in parts of the camp (for obvious reasons), but it's hard to accept that some people aren't moved by this one below (and would actually celebrate it).
i had mullled beer there which was terrible.
Hal, the Salt Mines are unmissable, as is Auschwitz
where did you stay in krakow? we are off there soon.
^^
Pass.
I grew up eating perogies in Saskatchewan, with the large Ukrainian population there. Any small town wedding would always be catered by the Babushkas. There was even a Ukrainian drive thru restaurant selling them in my hometown, before there was even a McDonald's I think. So they're Ukrainian to me.
I might PM you for some details soon , as I'm thinking of a trip to Krakow and Eastern Europe in the near future.
Cheers

Just next to the Jewish Quarter and about 15 mins walk from the old town. It was a nice place that we paid about 75 quid a night for. There are some good restaurants nearby too.
If you wanna be closer to the old town, try this place:

Very nice Hal...Galupkis are one of my favorites.
I'll be taking the Pils in Czechia over the summer too , send a pm if you fancy a pint or possibly a liter?
