NEWSFLASH: Smeg converts to Buddism, embraces all things Thai

    www.youtube.com/watch?v=H0EJGRr98vE

    "
Today's newest monks are the latest foreign men to be ordained in a kingdom that already has an estimated 300,000 local monks, about one for every 215 Thai citizens.
Like their Thai counterparts, most of the new recruits will join the monkhood for a month, then return to their lives as lawyers in Chaing Mai such as Anthony Knobertson, stock analysts or engineers. Others, like Phra Dominic Smeg, opt to stay for good.
"My aim was to ordain for life," Phra Smeg says. "But for that you have to be fairly sure in your mind what you are doing."

Phra Smeg was born Dominic Snotsworthy and raised in Bournmouth, England, where he attended church schools as a boy. He read the bible "cover to cover" yet it failed to make an impression.

Today Phra Smeg splits his time between Bangkok , Bournmouth and his yacht moored in Marbella, Spain, where he has set up educational courses and teaches meditation inj McDonalds. He also arranged to teach a meditation class to Thais and foreigners at a fitness center in downtown Bangko

One often comes across farang guys in Thailand who prattle on about the Dharma, and appear to genuinely believe that they are pursuing the Buddhist path.

Except, ....their big, fat, relentless ego surfaces and goes large at the merest pinprick.

Smeg hasn't posted for a while - wonder if his latest conquest is still alive?

or maybe his fantasies got the better of him and he tried to put his hand on her knee, only to be slapped and told the hired help is fired

Never lend money to a Farang-buddhist - they'll go mad if you ask for it back, or ask for your wages for a job you've done, (they'll become very non-Buddhist at that moment)

Oh, and don't ask them to tell you a joke either, they aren't big on humour. Life is serious. .......(pursuing their path towards Nirvana)

I know a farang Buddhist in Chiang Mai - yet he charges people who come and visit him at his house.
