If China secures the debts of Italy and probably Greece and Portugal, should Ireland also let them in?
I think going back to the dark ages would be preferable.

^Why? China is just looking for something to do with all their money. Italy is probably a good bet. Built enough ghost towns in China, maybe. What kind of leverage do you suppose it would give them? If Italy decide not to pay, who will they send to break Italy's legs?

I think Italy should sell China all the gold it has. Every country should sell it's gold to China then declare gold defunct.
Greece could probably sell China a few islands... Somewhere fir China to dock it's aircraft carriers.
China is building up African countries in exchange for their resources so the same tactics in a few European countries is nothing new.
Italy would probably start to becOme efficient if it became Chinese territory.
What works in Africa- and I agree that China's moves there should be of concern to both African nations and developed countries- won't work in Europe. I see it as more like the situation vis-a-vis China holding vast amounts of US debt- if you owe the bank a million, they own you; if you owe them a billion they take a great interest in keeping you afloat.
Looks like the west needs to get rid of supersizing it and go to subsize. Would you like to Subsize that?
