There is (or was) a direct ferry service that operated a couple of times a week (approx. 75 km sea journey).

Just want to know if this is still in operation or not? If so is it Mermaid who run it?

I think the introductory rate was THB 1,200 one way.

Not sure - I think they just co-operate as Thai Living Ferry used the Mermaid jetty south of Hua Hin.
