Teakdoor Thai election poll. 15 June

Seems the entire country is in the midst of election fever. Polls are popping up all over. Time Teakdoor had one of our own. We might even get coverage in local media.

Not that anyone cares what us farangs think but would be an indication of our preference or how our Thai partners will vote.

Far too many parties to list all so poll only lists the Dems, PTP, Other and Undecided.

Poll is anonymous so no worries if you don't vote for party you have been passionately backing in the News forum.

I'll do a couple more before election to see if there is a change.

I think a better poll would be, will the next PM commit more crimes against humanity than the last one?

^Thaksins gonna win aint he, albeit by proxy, then he will be forgiven for his crimes, he will then be welcomed back to Thailand, then there will be yet another coup, and probably abhisit will step forward to take the reins again, all pretty pointless really, still, tanks always look smart driving down the road.

Gotta keep up DD. You might get some short term political revenue for TD. A couple of banners.

"Expats unite, talk some sense to your Isaan wife and family, vote Democrat!"

    and

"Vote PTP (Thaksin). Ten year visas and full property ownership."

I think Mid is going to do a poll to cover that "option". "Will PTP be allowed to form the government".

a change of face will not be a bad thing, Abhisit does seem a bit tired, I don't see him governing again for another 4 years without having a nervous breakdown, after what he went through, it will be a well deserved rest IMO

maybe he can come back in a few years after the new coup ?

the dems did their job, pretty well actually, they promised elections and it happened, they have restored the balance of democracy as it should have been, and despite structural vote issues, it's clear that PT will win this election, even if not a landslide

let's hope that Y is not as vapid as her brother, maybe an amateur like her will bring something good for once. She is not bad looking either, so better her than Chalerm or the other pig. Hopefully she can speak good English for the international press.

As expected this election has nothing to do with Democracy, but worship of personalities, so Y is definitely leading in that department

My only worry is that T pull a dirty trick at the last minute and nominate Chalerm or the fat pig as PM.

Non of you are on the money yet.

Abisit will indeed be cleared off to the ICC for his crimes against humanity, after the election, but obviously the way is being cleared for his old Eton bummer boy .................................................. .................................................. ...........

    Remember, Britain revoked Thaksin's visa.

I dread to think of what revenge he is going to take out on us but I do not see Brits living in Thailand finding the visa process any easier.

The wife wants #5 to win. But I say the PTP will probably prevail.

I probably should know the answer to this, but do Thai political parties actually stand for anything?

(Apart from empowering and then enriching themselves, obviously).

How does the number ordering system work here on the ballot cards?

How the hell did Takki get the No.1 spot (as they just tick who they are voting for from a list)?

Missus said it's a random draw and she was 'chok dee' and just rolled her eyes. Abbi is way down at No. 10.

The missus is right. Yingluck picked first and got #1.

Is it possible to plot the positions of the Dems and PTP on a political compass, for instance?

I'm somewhere near Ghandi, so who should I vote for?
