Safari World Bangkok... warning from thegent

Thegent would like everybody to know that Safari World Bangkok has some bad practices...

I thought it was a great day out and would definitely go again though.

Here is his rant about the place...
This so called safari park is one which should have been closed down years ago but this being Thailand, and therefore the only thing the cynical chicken headed fuckers care about is money, it hasn't nor has it been prosecuted for its breaches of the CITES agreements to which it is a signatory - no surprise there, remember, this is Thailand and therefore the only thing the cynical chicken headed fuckers care about is money.

In 2004 115 Orang Utans were illegally taken from the wild in Indonesia and dumped in the laughably named Safari World where they were trained to put on boxing shows for the gormless public. Of the 114 found during a raid on these premises 50 were returned to Indonesia but the rest died.

Because this freaks carnival is still operating, remember this is Thailand and all the cynical chicken headed fuckers care about is money, there is still a demand for wild Orang Utans and the illegal trade persists to meet it.

By patronising this obscenity of a business, folk are in effect driving the Orang Utan population to extinction but I daresay some might think it worthwhile just as long as their, and their children's, interest is piqued sufficiently.

    So now you know.

The Thai as we all know are the world's greatest hypocrites and nothing, absolutely nothing, they say or claim to do amounts to anything more than a long wet dribbling fart.

I wonder why the Sriracha tiger zoo is such a freak show. Tigers, pigs and African tribesmen in the same glass enclosure. Or maybe I dreamt it.

Endangered Species Boxing Bouts? Sounds like it will do well here. Especially if you can get to eat the winners.

He still insists on polluting my travel thread...

I think I might be warming to him now....
    Look, this is not personal.

Orang Utan are not noted for their pugilistic bouts in the wild. This is an obscene aberration forced on them by savages whose only interest is to make as much money as possible from an unthinking public.

Thailand makes great play of its interaction with the world's higher authorities by signing international conventions and holding conferences allegedly promoting their aims. But in practice they do little and often look the other way whenever money is to be made by the influential and corrupt.

Their hypocrisy shows them up for what they are but we more enlightened people don't have to contribute to their greed at the expense of wild animals facing threatened extinction.

    Do we?

^^ Isn't there an exclusive club where you can dine on endangered species (or was that a book I read)?

    Panda burgers sound appealing...

I think The Gent makes a lot of sense

Safari world has had a lot of bad press

The endangered Orang Utan in captivity should be involved in breeding programs not boxing shows

^ And they do have padded boxing gloves... Better than bare knuckle fighting in the savage jungle.

^ Don't think I saw any orangutans actually... They must have all snuffed it.

Wonder if they could sue for trauma like the ozzy immigrants are?

I wasn't interested in seeing orangutans box each other or parrots riding trapeze bikes.... I was persuaded to watch the dolphin show but I didn't mind that as dolphins look like they are smiling don't they?...

These shows do get filled up with punters, mainly coach loads from China, Korea and India... I agree with thegent to a degree but I also don't mind giving my kid a good day out... and it was a good day out.

^ Is that an orangutan?... I always get my monkeys mixed up.

Does look pretty miserable doesn't it... Maybe it was on a losing streak with the boxing.. Poor thing.

It appears that the gent is a sun reader.

Looks like they are enjoying themselves.

    The description with the video.

Don't worry, it's just a comedy routine, not the 'cruel ape fight club' the Sun would have you think it is

    That's no monkey,
They only give birth once every 8 years too
They are closely related to humans, have four fingers and a thumb and are quite intelligent unlike some primates I know

I bet he could use a Mac

Look at my start date you fucking idiot.

In any event, that should be " practises ". Whereas you cannot improve on what is evidently a lower end quotient of intelligence you can at least do something about your poor grammar with practice.

Ooh get you.. so intelligent. Your start date, right. I remember when you started.
And I remember being told in person from a friend of yours that you were trolling from Bedlam and that the faux eloquence is fake, as if we didn't know anyway. I thought it quite funny back then because you were amusing, but you seem to have turned in to an obnoxious, aggressive and foul mouthed twat.
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!"

How bizarre. I haven't posted in TV as the gent since Jan 2008 when I was banned by that queer mod whose name escapes me.

By that time I had accumulated sufficient posts to qualify for Bedlam but on gaining access I soon discovered it was as moribund as it was puerile and declined to contribute. Quite what you found there to amuse yourself is therefore a mystery.

Otherwise, I take your comments for the compliments they undoubtedly are although perhaps my " eloquence " is as faux as your recollection is accurate?

    Are you young?
