I just booked the ticket for a vacation to Thailand on Korean Air.
Anyone had the pleasure or displeasure of flying with them?
$723 for the ticket......made me a bit worried...you know...you get what you pay for.
Reviews please!!

The stewardesses should be better than the miserable, fat Merkin bitches.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Marmite the Dog again.
Hope to meet up with you. It has been too long!
Flew Korean Air to LOS once and it was alright. I think it was DC to Seoul, and then Seoul to Phuket. I picked KA mostly because I could apply the miles to my Delta account and I was going to Phuket anyway so the direct flight came in handy. Thanks to the Ambien, I remember very little of the flight. What I do remember is not objectionable. Hell, I'd gladly fly it again for just over $700.
Most of their flights from the States land in the middle of the night which I'm not crazy about, but other than that I never had a problem with them.
I have flown with them to and from the states more than a few times. They are OK.
6 August 1997 – Korean Air Flight 801 (Boeing 747-3B5) from Seoul to Agana, Guam, The crew attempted a night-time approach to Guam runway 06L. Flight 801 had descended 800 feet below the prescribed altitude, struck the 709 feet Nimitz Hill at a height of 650 feet and crashed in a jungle valley, breaking up and bursting into flames. Subsequent investigation found that the captain's failure to adequately brief and execute the imprecise approach and the first officer's and flight engineer's failure to effectively monitor and cross-check the captain's execution of the approach were directly responsible for the crash. It was the first fatal crash of the Boeing 747-300. Contributing factors were the captain's fatigue and Korean Air's inadequate flight crew training. Damage– total destruction, Injuries– multiple/severe, Deaths- 228 (22 of 23 crew, 206 of 231 passengers), Airframe– Destroyed
Happy holidays
With their pretentious, annoying advert heavily-rotating on the BBC News channel, they'd better be good..![]()
Is that the one with the girls walking (more like marching) on the wing of plane?
Great. If you don't mind long transit time at Inchon. Geographically inappropriate.
How long is your flight Chitown?
Not sure, but I have two legs.
Ok so we know that on Korean Air the stewardesses are hot, the commercials are annoying, there is long transit time at Inchon, their flights land in the middle of the night, there is nothing objectionable about them and they sometimes crash planes.
How is the food on Korean Air?
I've never had any problems with Korean Air. The staff is always friendly and good looking. The IFE is great and the food (if you like Korean) is great as well.
They are one of the few airlines with a non-stop flight from Mccarran in Las Vegas to at least some destination in Asia.
The prices are quite good most of the time as well. I paid $800 USD earlier this year from JFK to Hong Kong and back to Las Vegas.
As for the stop over at Incheon, it's not bad at all. You could always get stuck at Taoyuan in Taiwan.

Sitting ass to elbow with Koreans is a miserable experience for extended flights unless you love inhaling garlic and kimchee.
I have used them and the inflight smell was overwhelming but the stewardess were sexy and cold as hell
KOREAN AIR customer review : 28 October 2010 by A Snelling (USA)
Chicago - Seoul - Hanoi. FA's fantastic, service-oriented. Food decent, plane and bathrooms cleaned throughout the trip. We paid $1000 for our tickets - amenity pack, food/drink service, AVOD, etc. Changing planes in Seoul was also a huge benefit. Showered for free and ate a buffet meal at the Hub Lounge.
I aint superstitious, but I know when somethings wrong
I`ve been dragging my heels with a bitch called hope
Let the undercurrent drag me along.
I can't say yet, just booked, but I'll chime in at the end of February when I get back to Maui from my 25 days. They had the best price with short layovers and they are an Asian based airline so I hope to be treated like a "customer" instead of a piece of luggage and not have to pay $8 for a beer!
I've flown Korean Air litteraly 100's of times, from US to Korea and from Korea to Thai, while working in Korea for 17 years. with the exception of all the obnoxious koreans flying on them, nothing wrong with the airlines.
