Kindles and Ipads in Thailand

I got the Kindle DX in the US and enjoy being able to tale a "library" with me wherever I go.

My question is will when I return to Thailand will they both work there? Will I still be able to download books from the US? Will there be delays in downloading?

Does anyone have a Kindle in Thailand and how is it working for you?

How about an IPAD - anyone have any issues using it in Thailand?

Yes. The Kindle works here.

But.....

"You'll have to own Global Wireless versions of the Kindles in order to access WhispereNet outside of the U.S. Global Wireless Kindles are Kindle2s shipped after November 10, 2009 with serial number starting with B003 (Kindle2s), B006 (Kindle3-WiFi+3G) and B008 (Kindle3-WiFi only) and Kindle DXs shipped after January 19, 2010 with serial number starting with B005 & B009."
