    I am absolutely fooking ashamed......

    I was out today with this fervent Aussie cvnt, that has the Southern Cross Stars tatooed down his forearm and we both love Australia like no tomorrow.

    We met at the Outback Bar on the Darkside of Pattaya at 11.00pm, which is normally to early to crack open a beer but we did.

    The reason for the meeting was to watch what is one of the greatest Aussie Annual sporting events and that was the AFL Grand Final which is a mixture of Gaelic Rules and street wise ruff and tumble, kicking the shit out of a ball (and everyone around that ball) in front of 100,000 sport starved deviates.

    Anyway I said to Nedwalk, before the kick-off.....you watch these over paid cvnts.....when they play the Aussie National Anthem..........they will not join in even knowing that the nation is watching them.

    Sure enough, there was about 2 fookers out of 10 singing along but I was over the moon to see the Collingwood Blacky, who I have adjudged the best player on the ground today, belting out Advance Australia Fair whilst all the other fucvker white cunts (on both sides) standing there like fucvking zombies.

    All you over paid Australian atheletes the lot of you fookers, let the Kiwis, Poms, Taffys and particularly the Zeppos make you look like No-Shows when it comes to putting your hand across your heart and loving your country and I am truly ashamed that you cannot find the air or passion to sing your national anthem when the whole fucking nation has tuned in.

    Fook em, and thats the main problem we have in Australia at the moment. No passion................No heart to represent our great nation unless there is a huge pay-out at the end of it.

    Shame you fookers...............shame.

    By the way.............Nedwalks pissed.............Collingwood trounced the Saints and to the Black guy, your the man mate and one day I hope I can buy you a beer.

    Not too difficult to learn and when you are being paid to stand in front of Australia not too difficult to sing along.

    I love the Aussie national anthem- it's really catchy:

    Tie me kangaroo down, Sport, tie me kangaroo down...

    Is being able to sing an anthem at the footy, evidence of passion for one's country ?

    Look what the fooking Poms have to sing and they still do it with passion even though they have to change King/ Queen........and most of the fookers have trouble speaking English.

    It sends out a message of unity that Australia had but is losing.

    Exactly what I noticed and Mrs. Kerr said if they don't have the balls to sing the anthem then they should get some indigenous bros to sing something. I bit my tongue at that suggestion but know that my bloody legend of a grandfather wouldn't have 2 seconds for a sportsman that didn't sing the anthem loudly and proudly. F'n thankful he aint around to see these prima donna AFL players behaving like a bunch of pooves.

    Anyway watch the dragons tomorrow and I reckon the only one that won't belt out the anthem is that overpaid Gasnier sellout bastard they should start on the bench for riding on the back of family connections, and failing at hooking up with some french hottie etc.

    Screw these AFL pooves and bring on the Rugby League final tomorrow!

    F'k we all got taught to sing the anthem in any representative sport we played, and it is a shame these fkers think that aint important anymore.

    I agree "Gird by sea" is a bit poofy but we left that there so the Poms could understand and stay the fuck away.

    What else with the verses would you deem "Sheilas ditty" Mid?

    I dunno mate, it is also very close to nationalism, the Sydney race riots are but one example.

    For years, the Aussies prided themselves on their laconic, anti-authoritarian image, your typical Aussie was a larrikkan that would never bow down before a flag or national anthem, yet had enormous pride in the true values of mateship and fairness.

    This change to flying the flag, so to speak, is more American than Aussie, Why has that changed recently ? I do not think it is necessarily for the better.

    Girt... ya wally it means surrounded.

    Most people don't remember the second half of the song.

    Australians all let us rejoice
    For we are young and free
    We've golden soil and wealth for toil,
    Our home is girt by sea:
    Our land abounds in nature's gifts
    Of beauty rich and rare,
    In history's page let every stage
    Advance Australia fair,
    In joyful strains then let us sing
    Advance Australia fair.

    Beneath our radiant Southern Cross,
    We'll toil with hearts and hands,
    To make this Commonwealth of ours
    Renowned of all the lands,
    For those who've come across the seas
    We've boundless plains to share,
    With courage let us all combine
    To advance Australia fair.
    In joyful strains then let us sing,
    Advance Australia fair.

    Go the Pies !!!! Great Win !!

    I read the first part of your post with extreme anger but then settled dowm with the secong half of your quote.

    Can you add your real feelings mate?

    Would you refuse to sing the Australian National Anthem, firstly when as a relatively young lad you grew up with it and when the whole nation was watching you?

    Lol just having a lend mate.

    but here is the original 5 verse version imagine singing this.

    Verse One

    Australians all let us rejoice,
    For we are young and free;
    We've golden soil and wealth for toil,
    Our home is girt by sea;
    Our land abounds in Nature's gifts
    Of beauty rich and rare;
    In history's page, let every stage
    Advance Australia fair!
    In joyful strains then let us sing,
    "Advance Australia fair!"

    Verse Two

    When gallant Cook from Albion sail'd,
    To trace wide oceans o'er,
    True British courage bore him on,
    Till he landed on our shore.
    Then here he raised Old England's flag,
    The standard of the brave;
    With all her faults we love her still,
    "Brittannia rules the wave!"
    In joyful strains then let us sing
    "Advance Australia fair!"

    Verse Three

    Beneath our radiant southern Cross,
    We'll toil with hearts and hands;
    To make this Commonwealth of ours
    Renowned of all the lands;
    For those who've come across the seas
    We've boundless plains to share;
    With courage let us all combine
    To advance Australia fair.
    In joyful strains then let us sing
    "Advance Australia fair!"

    Verse Four

    While other nations of the globe
    Behold us from afar,
    We'll rise to high renown and shine
    Like our glorious southern star;
    From England, Scotia, Erin's Isle,
    Who come our lot to share,
    Let all combine with heart and hand
    To advance Australia fair!
    In joyful strains then let us sing
    "Advance Australia fair!"
    Verse Five

    Shou'd foreign foe e'er sight our coast,
    Or dare a foot to land,
    We'll rouse to arms like sires of yore
    To guard our native strand;
    Brittannia then shall surely know,
    Beyond wide ocean's roll,
    Her sons in fair Australia's land
    Still keep a British soul.
    In joyful strains the let us sing
    "Advance Australia fair!"

    LoL

    You should be ashamed, the national anthem of Australia being in English.

    should be greatly ashamed.
