    It doesn't surprise me Wally.

Ned and I were singing it with vigour watching these other arseholes standing there like Christiano Ronaldo waiting for a fucking manicure.

You watch the Kiwis and their passion......not only do they sing the islanders anthem but the they then sing the whitey one and then you have the Kaffers.

The Aussies can't even manage their own anthem let alone learning the Abo version.

you may have a great nation; maybe that is why nobody wants to sing some anthem whilst a foreign queen reigns over you?

the referendum you had was flawed, to say the least

do it properly and get rid of her

I have been out the Sydney Cricket Ground during the ashes and had the opportunity to enjoy the antics and unadultarated support that the Barmy Army give their cricket side even when they are getting their arses whipped.

A passion that most Aussies cannot understand and a passion that sometimes rescues their side from defeat into glorious victory.

I am fucking ashamed when I see Australian Atheletes that cannot sing their national anthem when they know the words and have been honoured to represent their team and or nation.

The referendum, whether it was flawed or not has nothing to do with it mate.

I am talking about a nation of people who are not proud of what we have achieved, who will sit in an arena and allow New Zealand support to overshadow home support with Athletes who cannot sing with pride a few words and to instill our nation.

    Fooking pisses me off..........

    ^ Fuck off Ted.

Well if no Aussie has the balls to sing the Anthem we have been given when a TV camera is focused on them lets revert to the one me and Ned sang when we were young.

I read the first part of your post with extreme anger but then settled dowm with the secong half of your quote.

Can you add your real feelings mate?

Would you refuse to sing the Australian National Anthem, firstly when as a relatively young lad you grew up with it and when the whole nation was watching you?
We'll have a beer and a yarn about it one day, something I feel strongly about.

Having said that, I wouldnt refuse to sing the anthem, and yes I do know the words, but.

Not everyone does, and that does not make them less proud to be Aussies, that used to be an American thing, waving flags, singing songs, thumping chest, while the Aussies just got on with doing the right thing. Aussies dont need to shout out loud how good we are, but that seems to be changing,

And it seems to me, that often, the ones who shout the loudest, have the least to shout about.

Know what I mean ? Knocking down tall poppies, being humble, not talking BS, these are all Aussie traits.

Goes against flag waving, song singin, chest thumping...

I agree with you LT... if the players dont sing the anthem the AFL should ban them from playing the following season.
But then again a lot of the players are to thick to string a meaningful sentence together, so to get them to sign along to an anthem they don't understand, might be to much of a stretch.
